Joining the prestigious circle of Emmy, Oscar, Tony and Grammy winners, Viola Davis won the “G” in the “EGOT” title today during the pre-show for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.

“It’s just been such a journey,” Davis said upon accepting the award. “I’m just EGOT!”
Only 18 people have achieved status and Davis is the fourth black person to win all four, joining Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend and Jennifer Hudson.
Davis already has an Oscar, two Tonys and an Emmy.
“I wrote this book to honor 6-year-old Viola, to honor her, to honor her life, her joy, her trauma, her everything,” Davis said.
Davis, 57, won the 2017 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as housewife Rose Maxson in 2016 Fences. In 2015, she received an Emmy for her role as Annalize Keating in How to get away with murder, making her the first black woman to win the Lead Actress Award. She has two Tony Awards, one for King Hedley II and the Broadway production of Fences.
The Grammys are tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT aired. It will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
