Evan Peters wins Golden Globes "Dahmer" : "It’s a shame" A victim’s mother is angry!

Not surprisingly, actor Evan Peters won the Golden Globe for best actor in a miniseries or telefilm this Sunday evening in Los Angeles for his rendition of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. The mother of one of the victims is enraged.

Tony Hughes was one of seventeen people killed and murdered by the notorious American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. And her mother, Shirley, isn’t too happy that her death story brought Evan Peters an award this January 8th at the Golden Globes evening in Los Angeles.

For his role as Jeffrey Dahmer in the Netflix mini-series “Dahmer – The Beast: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, the actor received a series of best actor awards. And although she wishes for her victory and for the drama to come out well in her speech, the victim’s mother doesn’t hear it the same way…

Indeed, speaking through TMZ, the bereaved mother believes the TV star should use her speech to talk about families still suffering from Dahmer’s crimes, while platforms and producers are making money off their backs. Thus he lamented: “It’s a shame that people take ownership of our tragedy and make money. The victims didn’t see a penny. We experience these feelings every day.”

Shirley Hughes also asked Hollywood to stop telling stories about murderers and glorifying them, and assured: “There are a lot of sick people in the world, and people who get acting roles playing killers fuel this obsession and make sick people famous.”
