Kelly Rizzo, Bob Saget’s widow, shared an emotional Instagram post in memory of the deceased Totally Star on her first Christmas without him and before his one year death anniversary.
“Cherish every moment. I certainly didn’t think our first Christmas together (in the same city) last year would be our last,” she posted next to a carousel of photos of the couple together. “It was the first year he came to Chicago to spend Christmas with my family and my wonderful stepdaughter, Lara. I’m so glad we had this special time together.”
Saget died on Jan. 9, 2022, at the age of 65, after suffering “blunt head trauma” following a “non-witness fall,” a Florida coroner concluded. With Saget’s death anniversary approaching, Rizzo waxed nostalgic and shared words of wisdom about dealing with the holiday season after losing a loved one.
“The holidays are a time of hope, love and togetherness. I pray that when you miss a loved one this holiday season, you will be blessed with many deep and loving memories and gratitude to help you get through it,” she added. “Like I said before, I’m just so grateful to have this incredible man in my life and to be in his life for six years. There is no greater Christmas present than this. Sending you all love and prayers and wishes. And I can’t thank you all enough for almost an entire year of all the love and support and kindness from everyone. It means more than you know. I can only hope to show you how grateful I am and give it back in time.
