Four destinations in Spain will be the first to see snow a few hours’ drive from Madrid

Ski enthusiasts have already booked their holidays in Baqueira, Formigal or Sierra Nevada to enjoy the snow to the fullest. But if winter sports aren’t for you and you just want it walk in snowy landscapes with your partner or familyYou will be the first to enjoy these places in Spain.

Sierra de Guadarrama (Madrid and Segovia)

Less than an hour from Madrid is the Sierra de Guadarrama. snow is guaranteed at the peaks of winter. Valuable stops these days are Cercedilla, Rascafría, El Espinar, Pedraza and other towns in Segovia where we can take day trips to enjoy the fresh snow.

This the capital of Spain where it usually snows first in December and January. We can drive to the city or get lost in the beautiful villages of Soria, find rural landscapes with fairytale snowfall patterns. Let’s not forget how easy it is to find where to eat well and cheaply in Soria.

Avila

There is so much to do and enjoy in Ávila in winter, and snow is one of them. Very common in December and January print of the snowy walled city and children playing with sledges on the hill outside the walls. Burgundy

We have a lot of plans to do in Burgos if it rains or snows because when they start the snowfall there is heavy and covers everything with a white blanket. It doesn’t matter if we stay in the city or take advantage of the first snowfall to go to its charming corners like Puentedey, Las Merindades or Tobera. Always a great romantic plan with family or kids.
