From tranquil nature retreats to luxury glamping destinations, the annual AA Caravan and Camping Awards have named Britain’s best outdoor accommodation for 2024.

According to the AA, the winners represent “an ideal destination for the 16.7 million camping and caravanning trips” taken in the UK each year. The awards went to 12 sites across the country, hand-picked by AA inspectors who judged them for their “exceptional quality and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction”.

Awards included Glamping Site of the Year, Campsite of the Year and Most Improved. AA Media managing director Simon Numphud said the winners demonstrated “unparalleled quality” and a “commitment to ensuring their guests’ experiences are truly exceptional”.

AA CAMPSITES OF THE YEAR

Behold The Quiet Site in Ullswater, Cumbria, which took the crown as England’s campsite of the year and overall winner for 2024.

In Scotland, first place went to the Sands of Luce holiday park in Dumfries and Galloway, which overlooks the “great golden sands” of Luce Bay. The inspectors praised the park’s new “beach access road” and electric vehicle charging stations. ‘TThis well managed and presented holiday park leaves a positive first impression on arrival and this impression strengthens the more you explore the park,” she added.

In Wales, Home Farm Caravan Park in Anglesey won the award for its “peaceful rural setting close to Moelfre Beach” and its “first-class” service, run with “passion and enthusiasm”. Inspectors liked the “high and remote location, sheltered by trees” and the “views over the farmland, sea and mountains of Snowdonia”.

Finally, the Holiday Center of the Year award went to Warren Farm Holiday Center in Somerset, which was praised by inspectors as a “comprehensive” and constantly improving holiday park in a “beautiful location” on the coast.
