A psychologist with a keen eye for haunted houses has discovered the signs that your home is haunted – and what you can do about it.
British medium TJ Higgs describes himself as someone who can connect people in this world with spirits in different realms.

“Pay close attention to the timing and frequency of these sounds. If they happen all the time, they’re trying to get your attention,” TJ said.
“It doesn’t mean negative; Your loved ones may just be more persistent so you know they are there for you and support you.”
The clairvoyant gave a very simple way to stop the events: by acknowledging them.
She explained: “Electronic vocal phenomena (EVP) are sounds that appear on electronic recordings and are interpreted as ghost voices.”
“If you hear them whisper, turn on a recorder, your cell phone will do, introduce yourself and ask if anyone wants to share.”
Disturbing sensations

The psychic medium added that these sensations often occur when individuals move into a new home as “residual energy” of a spirit is common.
She concluded, “Again, a family member or loved one can cause these sensations.”
“For example, if you have lost a beloved pet and you feel cold or cold in their favorite place, especially your feet, they will let you know that they are home.”

TJ then warned about another classic sign that a house is haunted: objects mysteriously moving on their own.

TJ shared a recent event in her own life where she took her own advice.
“I was at my friend Charlotte’s house the other day, the doorbell rang, there was no one at the door,” she said.
“Charlotte said she thought it was her grandpa Barry because it became a running joke and every time it happened her family said, ‘Oh, there’s grandpa.’
“So I asked, ‘If it’s you Barry, do it again,’ immediately the doorbell rang so we asked again and he did it again. It wasn’t until a few weeks later, on his birthday, that it happened again.”
Apparitions and shadows
The last sign TJ gave of a haunted house was sightings of ghostly apparitions or shadows in the house.
She explained that these sightings can range from powerful apparitions to stereotypical transparent figures often seen in films.
She said: “If you or others in your household observe such phenomena, it can be a strong indication of a haunted house.”
“Consider the circumstances of these sightings, such as the time of day, location and any emotions or feelings experienced during the encounter.”
“Again, they could be former residents of the home or property, or more importantly, your loved ones.”
