Air France has introduced a brand new 48-seat Business Class cabin for its Boeing 777-300, with full aisle access, private doors, wireless charging and 6ft 5in day beds.

Additionally, the new offering features anti-clockwise, mid-cabin seats with a center wall that can be lowered to create a “cozy spot” for passengers traveling together.

Also noteworthy is a 17.3-inch 4K high-definition anti-glare screen that passengers can enjoy with a noise-cancelling headset. If they bring their own headphones, they can connect to the system via Bluetooth or a power outlet.

The seats are upholstered in wool fabric, brushed aluminum and full-grain French leather.

The 48-seat premium economy cabin is also new to the 777, but not to Air France – it’s the same configuration the airline uses on its Airbus A350.

Here, each seat offers 38 inches of legroom, 124-degree recline, USB A and C ports, and a 13.3-inch 4K high-definition screen with Bluetooth connectivity.

The Economy cabin, on the other hand, has 273 seats that impressively share the same 13.3-inch screen as Premium Economy, but legroom is 79cm and tilt is 119 degrees.

Air France pointed out that customers boarding the plane are greeted by an illuminated winged seahorse, “the epitome of the company’s founding myth and rich history.”

The first Boeing 777 fitted with the new cabins flew from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to New York-JFK on January 20, with the upgraded aircraft now serving Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and Dakar in Senegal.

Guided through the new cabin ahead of its launch, The Points Guy UK said: “Rather than reinventing the wheel with their new business class product, Air France has taken an already solid product and added more modern touches – along with some beautiful colors.

“Things like wireless charging, 4K monitors and in-seat doors make it a desirable and competitive product. And everyone on the plane will benefit from some of these improvements – at least in the monitors and Bluetooth audio pairing system.”

Air France said: “Thanks to this new major step in Air France’s push into the high end of the market, all of the company’s long-haul cabins will have seats that convert to full-flat beds by the end of 2023, up from 90 percent today. By that in time the entire fleet will also have WiFi on board, compared to 97 percent now.”
