And it’s no wonder.
From dreamy seaside homes to chic mountain retreats, they were the top 10 most popular homes in the world. Airbnbs Instagram page 2022 betrayed the rental platform.
The most popular Airbnb, a great getaway in the Dominican Republic, has received more than 20,000 likes, with social media users raving about the epic mountain views the property offers.
Two Airbnbs in the US made the top 10: a home on the rugged coast of Big Sur, California, and a quaint cottage in New York’s Hudson Valley. Other great rentals on the list include a charming English cottage, a ‘bargain’ property in the Spanish countryside and a glassworks hidden in a Brazilian forest.
Considering rental costs, Airbnb says: “With inflation and the rising cost of living, affordability is a top priority for many as they dreamily scroll from post to post – so it’s no surprise that some of the most popular posts on Airbnb’s Instagram are closing for 2022 a range of cheap accommodation.” Scroll down for the full list, shown here in reverse order…
10. THE GRAIN FARMER AT COES WINGARD (ROTHERFIELD, SUSSEX): Tenth on the list is this ‘lovely’ one-bedroom cottage, situated in the heart of the ‘picturesque’ Coes estate. Likes – 4,449
9. THE NATURAL PARADISE OF MY DREAM (CHENGGONG, TAIWAN): According to Airbnb, this “quirky” cabin nestled in a bamboo forest was “built from the ground up by nature-loving host Nancy and her family using natural materials.” Likes – 6,136
8. YOUR HOME IN PARADISE (BENALAURIA, MALAGA, SPAIN): This ‘outstanding’ 100-year-old Spanish property aims to retain the ‘essence of a traditional town house’. Airbnb adds: “At 55 euros (£48) a night, it’s the perfect ‘wish’ home for anyone looking for a bargain.” Likes – 7,157
7. THE BOUTIQUE STUDIO (GENT, BELGIUM): According to one guest, this “tastefully decorated” Ghent apartment is above “the best cafe in town, where coffee is included and breakfast is excellent.” Likes – 7,682

ARELAUQUEN APARTMENT WITH INCREDIBLE VIEWS (SAN CARLOS DE BARILOCHE, RIO NEGRO, ARGENTINA): Enjoy unparalleled views of the wooded hills of Cerro Otto, a peak in Patagonia, from this two-bedroom apartment. Airbnb notes that it is “perfect for a small family with an adventurous spirit.” Likes – 12,097

VILLA PAIRIDAEZA (KAS, ANTALYA, TURKEY): According to Airbnb, this holiday home is a short drive from Kalkan’s Blue Flag beach and offers “uninterrupted sea and island views” from its terraces and rooms.
