Catching a bus on time can be hard enough without queuing up behind a line of sheep…
Alan Day, 63, from Gloucestershire, captured the amazing moment 50 sheep appeared to queue for the bus in Bream, Lydney.
An old tradition in the area called “pannage” gives farmers the right to graze their animals freely.
A leg of mutton! It looks like this herd of sheep has left the pasture for a night on the town
Retired Alan was on his way to volunteer at Bream Community Library when he spotted the herd last Saturday.
He said: “When I came into the village, I saw about 50 sheep.
“Within minutes they were spread out on the grass and when the bus came it looked like they were all queuing up to get on.
“I thought it looked odd – like they were trying to take advantage of the limited £2 single fare to Gloucester.”

I guess the bus was late? About 50 well-dressed sheep stick to the pavement during their “pannage”.
