A Russian family spent 2.1 million rubles on a two-week holiday at a luxury five-star hotel in Pula, Italy, making it the most expensive hotel booking made by Russian travelers in August.
Data released by online travel service OneTwoTrip showed that two adults and one child spent 14 days at the resort with two meals a day included in their reservation.
The figures, which were provided to news website Lenta.ru, revealed that international resort destinations dominated the highest hotel spending for the month.
OneTwoTrip is a major Russian online travel booking platform. The resort town of Pula is located on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia in southern Italy.
Top luxury bookings in August
Montenegro recorded the second highest hotel expenditure in August, according to the service. A pair of Russian travelers spent 1.4 million rubles on a six-day stay at a five-star hotel in Herceg Novi, with breakfasts included in the total cost.
Herceg Novi is a coastal town in Montenegro located along the Adriatic Sea at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor.
France completed the top three list of luxury August bookings. Two adult tourists traveling without children paid 1.1 million rubles for seven nights at a luxury hotel in Cannes, which also included morning breakfasts.

The August spending figures follow an even higher hotel expenditure recorded earlier in the year by Russian holidaymakers in Italy.
