Netflix Locks Actor Inside Los Angeles Movie Billboard

Streaming service Netflix locked an unnamed actor inside a billboard in Los Angeles for two days to promote a new film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The billboard advertising the thriller movie The Last House was built over Sunset Boulevard with the performer staying inside.

The actor moved into the installation on August 6 and was scheduled to leave on August 8. Built to resemble the facade of a residential house, the structure sits 9 meters above the ground at the intersection of Selma Avenue and Sunset Boulevard.

Netflix press officials said the actor would try to maintain a sense of normality for an extended period inside the enclosed space. He communicates with commuters and passersby below using a whiteboard, which press representatives described as a frightening reference to the family isolation in the center of the city in the film.

Directed by Louis Leterrier, The Last House follows a family of four trapped inside their home with no exit. The characters must try to survive against a mysterious force that has cut them off from the world.
