Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof was intended to teach viewers the power of “taking ownership,” but many said it simply turned them off.
In his new prime-time show, Dutch “Iceman” Wim Hof has iced celebrities like Alfie Boe, Gabby Logan and Tamzin Outhwaite as an extreme self-help method.
“There is a natural power in the cold,” he says. “When we embrace it, the magic happens.”

Viewers were impressed with Wim Hof, but were generally put off by the show and jokingly wondered if it was a gimmick to lure the cold as heating prices skyrocketed.
Hof is an extreme endurance buff whose quirks got stuck in the ice, earning him 26 Guinness World Records.
He ran a barefoot half marathon on arctic snow and climbed Everest at 24,000 feet in shorts only.
He also loves breathing techniques, yoga, extreme balance and motivational speaking and has put it all into his highly marketable Wim Hof method.
Celebrities spend six weeks in the Hof in northern Italy, where they go through a series of challenges designed to help them “freeze the fear.”
“It’s not about being tough, it’s about taking the power of your own mind,” says Hof.

A few viewers agreed with the concept, but said it would be better to give “real people” a chance rather than celebrities.
But while viewers were impressed with the tough guy, many failed to understand the point of the show. Some even jokingly wondered whether it was a gimmick to paint the cold in a positive light as heating costs soared.
Someone tweeted: “I thought you learned about Wim Hoff and cold therapy and didn’t watch the struggling millionaires #FreezeTheFear.”
Another is ‘#freezethefear Look how nice it is to be cold!!! Is this a government-sponsored info show for us to turn off the central heating?
A third wrote: “I was very disappointed with #FreezeTheFear – Rather than dive into breathing techniques, physiological effects and mind balance.
“The show was just more beige fun with a few gimmicks. The concept has lost value.

Others defended the show, saying it was just a much-needed escape
A few posters agreed with the concept, but said it would be better to give “real people” a chance rather than celebrities.
I prefer to look at ordinary cancer survivors, recovering drug addicts, or people who really need to change their outlook on life, rather than people who get paid (possibly a small fortune) to improve their profile. one.
But others defended the show, saying it was a much-needed escape.
One tweeted: “Absolutely clever but insane. Jump into the frozen water and descend over the cliffs. eee.
There came a second: ‘#FreezeTheFear was in charge tonight. I would love to do all of these. But I was happy to watch at home with toast and hot chocolate. #wimhof.’

In the second mission, the celebrities left the camp and walked to a rocky ledge in the snow.

The stars coexist in a luxury dorm complete with plush double beds and fine furnishings.
All celebs attend for different personal reasons and hope they feel happier, healthier and stronger from the experience.
The first mission in the series saw the stars plunge into a pool of ice water.
Alfie Boe came out of the ice and said: “Exciting. You connect with everything in the past, you connect with everything you want to change about yourself.’
Dianne Buswell added: “It’s so exciting when you get your head into it.”
“I have sparkling champagne in my blood,” said rapper Professor Green.
The celebrities then had to walk to a rocky ledge in the snow and return to the landing camp, where they stayed in a single luxury dorm.
In each mission, they receive encouraging words from Hof, who believes that resisting the cold means “awakening the deepest part of the brain” and becoming “the alchemist in your own body.”
