“Patrick Melrose”
This is depression in its purest form – the project was written by Booker Prize nominee Edward St. Based on Aubin’s series of books by London aristocrat Patrick Melrose about his life with alcohol and drug addiction and a difficult childhood. Such is the case when you forget that you have the handsome Benedict (43) and start to really worry about the onscreen hero. Cumberbatch was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe for this project.
“Chernobyl”
Mini-series from HBO about the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986 (five episodes only). Attention! You should not look particularly impressive in the series, where they show very realistically and in detail the consequences of radiation exposure for the inhabitants of Pripyat. By the way, the director is Swedish Johan Renck (53), to whom we owe the hits Breaking Bad and Vikings.
“The Handmaid’s Tale”
Violence, executions, a totalitarian regime – ideal for fans of heavy conspiracies. This is a story about the state of Gilead where fertile girls were turned into servants to give birth to the children of high-ranking politicians.
“black mirror”
An absolute plus of this series is that you can start with any series and any season (anyway, each episode is like a small separate movie). The main idea of \u200b\u200bthe “Black Mirror” is the life of people in the world of high technologies.
“Collapse”
Detective Stella Gibson is on the hunt for a serial killer played by Jamie Dornan (38) (the same handsome man in Fifty Shades of Grey). The protagonist, Paul Spector, is an exemplary father and family man by day and a dangerous hunter for new victims by night. The script is so intense!
“Sinner”
Sorry Jessica Biel (38) (her character, who is an exemplary housewife and mother in the first season, takes a knife and slaughters on the beach) but we are still in the second season. It begins with a double murder – a frightened little boy for some reason gives his parents a deadly poison. It’s a dark story, but you’ll definitely appreciate the plot twists.
“One night”
Another mini-series (eight episodes) you must watch! According to the story, after a stormy night with a stranger, the man wakes up with his corpse next to him and all the blame falls on him. It’s very oppressive psychologically – the feeling that you’re being imprisoned for nothing. Meanwhile, the leading actor Riz Ahmed (37) received an Emmy for this series.
“sharp objects”
Based on the novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn, author of Gone Girl. This is a detective, a family drama, and a really scary thriller about violence. The main character, Camille Preaker, travels to the rural town of Wind Gap in the Missouri wilderness, tasked by her editor to write a report on the brutal serial murders of girls. But Camilla herself is fraught with both childhood injuries and problems with alcohol and sharp objects, which she often injures herself. We think this is Amy Adams’ (45) coolest role!
“Let’s pretend”
This is a very nice psychological drama about a young couple who, for the sake of money, signs a strange contract with a wealthy business woman. Already after a pilot episode, a heavy impression remains. And you will definitely appreciate the figure of Renee Zellweger (51): something sporty or plastic, but her legs are stylish.
