Memes have become an integral part of our lives, it is impossible to imagine the Internet without them. After all, sometimes just “funny pictures” can convey the absurdity of the situation and describe all the emotions without words. In the last decade, the real stars of the viral photos and videos that almost everyone knows have appeared on the Web. And today, September 1, we recall the main characters of the most famous school memes and tell them what happened today!
Schoolboy in the swamp

This meme surprisingly can describe not only education but also workdays. This, of course, is about the same schoolboy sitting at his desk in a swamp. In 2016, Igor Nazarov, together with his brother Alexei, decided to participate in the public contest “How I Met Tetanus” on VKontakte. They approached this issue quite seriously and went to a swamp in the Chelyabinsk region to implement their ideas and took with them all the necessary details: a table, a chair, glasses, a laptop and possibly very important papers. Of course, a tight suit added a special charm to the picture in the swamp, which, according to the boy, did not upset at all. And so the popular meme “Office routine” was born, and the 11th grader became famous on the Web as a “swamp manager” or “swamp student”.
Six years have passed, and the life of Igor Nazarov, of course, has changed a lot. After school, he entered the Ural State University of Physical Culture, where he worked as a tourism manager. And although Igor was really passionate about his specialty, now he has chosen a job in another field. Recently, the guy became a professional tattoo artist: he posts pictures of his work on VKontakte and shares the process itself.
Cabbage borscht, but not red

We are sure that this hero needs no introduction, but we will remind you anyway. Nikita Litvinkov became famous with a viral video from the cafeteria of a school in the city of Korolev, in which he enthusiastically described updates on the school menu. “I had a good borscht with cabbage, but not red. I mean… sausages. There is also some kind of incomprehensible salad, in which they chop apples with carrots, cabbage and pineapple. Actually it bothers me. Delicious tea quenches my thirst a lot, and I feel like a man, ”the man told local reporters in 2008, and suddenly he became incredibly popular. The video went viral on the Russian-speaking Internet and became one of the most (if not the most) famous school memes. As Nikita Litvinkov later explained in an interview with various publications, popularity did not decorate his life at all, quite the opposite. 10 years later he still needs to “reap the benefits” of his former fame.
Nikita Litvinkov decided to connect his life with music. No, the hero of the popular video does not plan to conquer the Russian show business. The guy graduated from the conservatory, and then devoted himself to teaching at the music college in the city of Shatsk, Ryazan region. Litvinkov was so devoted to music that he even played the accordion in the orchestra while serving in the army.

Not so long ago, Nikita Litvinkov became a guest of Garik Oganisyan’s podcast “Reanimmatrix”. A popular student is now unrecognizable! It looks quite extravagant: without deceit, the guy wears long hair, but today lush hair has almost become the main accent of his style, and large chains and rings add excess to the image. In a conversation with the presenter, Nikita admitted that she considers herself a lonely person, and also often drinks alone. “Someone drinks from joy, someone from grief, and I drink because it is necessary,” said Litvinkov.

There is no holiday!

Surely everyone remembers the video with the freshman, who was very unhappy with the serious line on September 1. Seven-year-old Asya Petryaeva so openly conveyed her feelings, pain and anger during the school holidays that in 2010 she became the next heroine of the memes. In an interview with local reporters, the girl complained that there was no “holiday” in the end. “First they shut me down, then they didn’t give me the ball. Nothing is possible! We’ve all been kicked out of there and you just stand there, your eyes opened and look! – a first-grader of one of the schools in Kaluga said with tears.
Not so long ago, journalists learned that the heroine of the famous meme is not just a simple schoolgirl, but the daughter of the Deputy Governor of the Ryazan Region, Roman Petryaev. Asya has already graduated from a local university, became a teacher of Russian and Chinese, but she does not want to connect her future with this, as the girl said in one of her interviews. While studying at Kaluga University, Petryaeva worked as a beauty salon manager, and today she is apparently looking for herself and her destiny. “I’m constantly looking for three things: a job, time and a good movie,” 24-year-old Asya said on her social media account.
crazy nerd party

If your party isn’t like this, don’t even try to invite us, we thought as we take another look at this viral snap. Four guys who are probably very smart, smart and decent from Poland became the protagonists of the popular Crazy IT-Party meme in 2014. The boys went to a math training camp, where one of their teachers took this “flying” photo, without even thinking about what kind of excitement it would create on the Web a few years later. And by the way, the guys themselves really devoted a lot of time to study, especially to mathematics, and in the future almost each of them became a successful programmer. And one is now working with Elon Musk.

Tomek Chaika (second picture from left) is seriously interested in programming: she has won multiple competitions and received several higher educations. After reading the meme hero, he settled in California, where he worked for Google for a time, and later got a job at Elon Musk’s Space X company. There, Tomek programs rocket control systems. Yes, he was one of the participants in the launch of Falcon Heavy with the convertible Tesla Roadster in 2018!
His friends Jan Pelz (far left in first picture) and Marcin Petrovski (far right) linked their lives with IT, while Piotr Pritytsky (third from left) began researching and became an assistant professor at McGill University. He currently lives in Canada with his wife.
angry school boy

Perhaps the classic meme from the early 2010s is an angry schoolboy who incredibly accurately describes the same classmate arguing with the teacher in class. A dramatic scene from the 2005 movie Chumsrubber brought actor Thomas Curtis unprecedented popularity, but he wasn’t just famous for his talented acting. Later, a meme with her participation went viral on the Web, which today everyone knows without exaggeration.
Thomas is currently 31 years old and he ended his acting career in 2010. Now nothing is known about the fate of the guy, but once he became famous for his roles in the films “Stylish Little Things”, “Gretel and Hansel”, “Alien”, “North Country” and “Road Killer”. .
