Dressing room audiences described Laurence Lewellyn-Bowen’s brilliant renovation of a woman’s living room as “a hot mess.”
The interior designer visited Yvonne from Luton and worked with her friends Dionne and Aliyyaa.
Recently divorced Yvonne had a dingy living room with brown furniture and cream walls that badly needed a little TLC.
Laurence Lewellyn Bowen’s redesign of Yvonne’s living room was a teal and lilac theme that split the audience in the home.

At the start of the programme, Yvonne said that the living room has not been redecorated since she moved 12 years ago, and the most recent renovation of the house was when it was renovated by the previous owners.

Yvonne’s friends Dionne and Aliyyaa teamed up with interior designer Laurence Lewellyn Bowen to redecorate the living room.
But after Laurence and his friends spent 48 hours transforming the space, viewers shared the finished article and took to Twitter to give their feedback.
One person described it as a “warm mess”, while others said they were unsure of the teal and purple color scheme in the room.
At the beginning of the episode, Yvonne said: ‘I have lived in this house for 12 years and it has been furnished by its previous owners.
“It hasn’t changed since then and I really want to make room for myself.”
Laurence looked into space and said he was “screaming for some love and life.”

Yvonne was excited and emotional as she entered her new living room, equipped with a dining table and a brand new suite.

Laurence Lewwellyn-Bowen designed a special edition “Walk on the Wild Side” for the room’s curtains and upholstery.

Laurence designed a mosaic table put together by friends of Yvonne, Dionne and Aliyyaa to create a dining area in the room.

The Blue and Teal Room wasn’t necessarily a hit for viewers who were indecisive about bold color choices, but Yvonne loved the creation.

One of Laurence’s biggest changes was to change the layout of the living room furniture to face the fireplace with a TV above it.

Fellow designer Whinnie Williams pointed out that the sofa was placed right in front of the fireplace.
“This is an illegal move,” he said, as Laurence joked, “Santa can’t get out.”
Talking about her vision for the space, Yvonne said she likes both modern and traditional styles and prefers bright colors.
He added that he wanted the room to reflect his African and Caribbean heritage.
After accepting the project, Laurence said she wanted to use the colors of the women’s suffrage movement: purple and green.
He also designed his own edition for a new set of curtains called “Walk on the Wild Side” in Yvonne’s living room.
After two days of hard work, Laurence and his team had replaced the living room with teal walls and purple prints.
The television was mounted on the wall above the fireplace in a large white frame, and Laurence had rearranged the furniture to face the room.
The designer also placed a room divider in his print, and the room is decorated with lilac orchids and large seashells.
When friends and neighbors started working on Laurence’s vision, they envisioned an intricate mosaic table in the living/dining room.

Audience divided the room, with many saying it was “too much” while others liked some of the bespoke designs.
When the audience saw the unusually designed room, they were very divided on its creation.
One person said, ‘Terrible. Everything. It’s like the dreams I have when I try to sleep with a migraine”.
Another said: ‘Every time I watch this show I think how could it be worse than this? And they do it themselves every week!’
One viewer disagreed with Laurence’s design and said, “I can’t say that clearly enough. STOP PLACING TVS ON FIREPLACES!’
Another said: “I was pretty impressed with Laurence’s room last week… What we know this week is that he’s back in the dressing room… a hot mess!”
While some people were not impressed with Laurence’s design, others fell in love with his vision of teal and mauve.
One viewer said: “I love the blue space, it looks so relaxing. Best ever look at the new series.’
Another praised the hard work that went into redesigning the space. “The most beautiful part of the room is the mosaic table,” they wrote.
Despite criticism from the audience, Yvonne was amazed at the transformation of the living room and she shed tears of joy when she first saw it.
“I really can’t believe it,” she said through tears.
One wild Twitter viewer commented, “I would love to cry.”
Many people who looked at the house wondered why someone would let their neighbor furnish their house.
‘I don’t hate any of my neighbors enough to go to the locker room with them,’ said one person.
Another wrote: “I appeal to my neighbors – please do not approach my house with Channel 4 ‘Interior Architect’ in tow.’
