A budget shopper couldn’t believe her luck when she stumbled upon a trendy glass lamp from Kmart inspired by a popular designer purchase.
“I am absolutely in love with Kmart’s new glass lamp,” said Carley, from Western Australia, after seeing the lamp. Browsing the budget store Amelie Table Lamp ($35).
The lamp is very similar to Murano’s Italian design. one woman said she bought a similar glass lamp for her 21st birthday nearly 40 years ago.

He said the lamp is genuine Italian Murano glass and is glad the style is back in fashion.
Murano glass is colored glassware made in Venice from soda-lime metal and often elaborately decorated with various glass-forming techniques as well as gilding, enamel or etching.
“What a treasure it is,” Carley said of the pink lamp. “What a beautiful and special lamp – a truly wonderful gift from your father.”
Hundreds of people were impressed by the unique lamp, but one woman discovered that she was given an almost identical glass lamp for her 21st birthday nearly 40 years ago.
A former retailer priced the pink lamp at $600 if the original “Made in Italy” label was still intact.
It also revealed the true inspiration behind the iconic Kmart lamp.
“Kmart is trying to recreate the original Murano glass mushroom lamp with the Amelie table lamp,” said Kmart, who shared a photo of one.

“Kmart’s is nice too, even if I hope to have an original Murano one day,” one woman wrote.
“It’s good, it’s not a need, it’s a need!”
“It’s very cute and also very well designed,” wrote a third.
