It’s vacation time. Some travel all year, but many still adhere to the tradition of flying on vacation during the summer months. And if you still have no idea where to go on vacation this season, maybe these statistics will help you with your choice.
Yandex Travel analysts conducted a study and found which cities and countries Russians prefer this summer, based on flight ticket search and booking data. And the majority of residents this summer decided to travel to Russian cities – up to 89%. The most popular among them are Sochi, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
The rest prefer to rest in neighboring countries: Turkey, Armenia, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. And those who like to travel to more distant places mostly choose Maldives, Israel and Thailand.
The cost of flights within Russia has not changed and ranges on average from 11,450 rubles, but airline tickets to other countries have increased significantly: 14% to near abroad and 48% to far abroad.
