If you have stale bread at home and don’t want to throw it away, it’s worth following the advice and learning how to “recycle” unwanted bread into garlic bread.
A supermarket was praised for its “ingenious” zero-waste trick to give stale bread a second life, turning it into garlic bread.
Australian supermarket chain Woolworths posted on TikTok to reveal what workers do when they have unsold bread overnight on the shelves.
An employee from the Sydney branch explains: “In our shop we bake fresh bread every day, but sometimes we don’t sell everything.
“So, in our Double Bay store, we are reducing food waste by giving these breads another life, in the form of delicious garlic bread.
“We cut the bread first, but specifically for each type of bread. Next, spread the garlic butter on the bread.

“We let it freeze for 12 hours and during those 12 hours that I shower, you have to stay clean, you know?
“And then it’s up to you to have fun.”
Viewers loved the idea of ”recycling” waste, especially in today’s cost of living crisis.
