Motorists have been told about a secret air conditioning button that could reduce fuel consumption, especially on short trips as the cost of gasoline and diesel has reached new heights.
Petrol and diesel prices are currently exploding.
There have been some ‘crazy’ scenes recently when fuel prices have soared to over £ 2 per liter at expensive UK pumps.
Now that most Brits will be looking to save money next time they’re at the station, here’s some handy tip.
Drivers have been warned of a secret air conditioning button that could reduce fuel consumption, especially on short trips.
The button will not only save fuel, but also make drivers and passengers more comfortable while traveling.
Drivers who turn on the air conditioning will use the engine power in diesel and gasoline cars and the battery in electric vehicles.
The system generally works by drawing in outside air and then heating or cooling it.

And drivers have been told it consumes more fuel than the option that allows the car’s air conditioning system to use the air inside the car.
For internal combustion engines, this can result in much higher fuel consumption.
There is a button specially designed for motorists to choose the option they prefer.
When activated, the air recirculation button allows the air conditioner to use the air inside the car by drawing it through the air vents.
And at the same time, it prevents outside air from entering the car.
The button is usually located around the climate control dial which allows the driver to adjust the interior temperature.
It has the image of a car with an arrow inside.
And using the button could help save fuel, as it puts less strain on the car’s engine.

Bradley Jando from Kwik cupHe said: “The compressor requires energy to run your vehicle’s air conditioning system and therefore will use a small amount of fuel when the system is running.
“This could increase fuel consumption by up to 10% and the effects are particularly noticeable on short trips. When first started, the air conditioning has to work hard to bring the internal temperature to a comfortable level. “
Despite the reduction in fuel consumption, the RAC added: “Do not use air conditioning unless it is really necessary, as it uses engine power and therefore increases fuel consumption.”
“This applies to both heating and cooling, so try to dress for the weather, even inside your car, if fuel efficiency is a big concern.”
