1940
Hattie McDaniel became the first black actress to win an Oscar for her role as Mammy in Gone With the Wind in 1940. “Tolerant” American society did not accept such a turn of events, and the actress sat in a separate part of the hall. In 2019, the Oscars were the first to host: after appointing comedian Kevin Hart as the host of the ceremony, he was criticized by the LGBT community for his homophobic Twitter posts in 2010 and deprived himself of that honor.

When Daniel Kalui, star of the movie “Judas and the Black Messiah”, went to win an Oscar for his supporting role, a lot came out of his mouth.
