The main movie award doesn’t always go smoothly. Scandals are frequent companions of this event. Before the annual ceremony (which will take place on the night of March 28-29 (be sure to watch our broadcast), the most talked about things were remembered.
1940
Hattie McDaniel became the first black actress to win an Oscar for her role as Mammy in Gone With the Wind in 1940. “Tolerant” American society did not accept such a turn of events, and the actress sat in a separate part of the hall. When the woman went out to get her figurine, she fainted on stage and burst into tears.

1964
Messy envelopes are a common occurrence at Oscars. In 1964, Sammy Davis Jr., promoting the nominations for best soundtrack, first announced the winner of “Tom Jones” composer John Addison, but a few seconds later he returned to the microphone and announced that it had been awarded to him. Wrong envelope and another candidate won.
1973
Handsome Marlon Brando didn’t want to win his Oscar for his work in The Godfather in 1973. The actress was enraged that the roles of Indians in films were played by whites. To express her protest, she sent Sachina Little Feather, a well-known fighter for the rights of Indians of the time, instead of herself for Oscar. The girl explained that Brando refused to accept the statuette because of the unfair treatment of American Indians.
1974
The next “Oscar” in 1974 also went to Elizabeth Taylor. When the host of the ceremony invited the actress to the stage to present the award to another winner instead of the diva, a scandalous photographer Robert Opal appeared there, completely naked. When Taylor took the stage, she joked that it would be difficult for her to beat such a triumphant look.

year 2000
In 2000, an Oscar without an Oscar almost happened when the workers at the figurine warehouse decided to sell all 55 trophies. The failed businessmen were unable to complete their plans and threw the statuettes into the nearest dumpster found by Willie Falgier, 63, who saved the ceremony, and received a $50,000 reward for finding them.
2000
Outrageous Angelina Jolie has not left the ratings of Oscar scandals for 10 years after reuniting with her brother James Haven Voight in a passionate kiss. The army of fans of the actress was divided into two camps, some were shocked and called such behavior immoral, while others were proud of the bold display of the fraternal feelings of the Hollywood beauty.
2012
The 2012 award was commemorated with Angelina Jolie’s foot. The actress appeared on the red carpet in a slit velvet Atelier Versace gown and kept her foot forward. Of course, the pose of the star immediately became the main cause of jokes and memes.

2013
The 2013 Oscars also suffered declines. Jennifer Lawrence was on stage to win an award for her role in My Boyfriend is Crazy, but she got tangled in her beautiful Dior dress and fell down the stairs. Handsome men Bradley Cooper and Hugh Jackman rushed to help the poor thing.
2016
Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith announced that they boycotted the film awards, accusing the organizers of the ceremony that there was not a single African American among the nominees for the second year in a row.
2017
Many people remember the embarrassment of 2017, when the organizers of the award confused the envelopes and mistakenly named La La Land the best film of the year from the stage. And only minutes later they found out that the Oscar actually went to the movie Moonlight.
2019
Rami Malek got off the stage by receiving the best actor award in “Bohemian Rhapsody” right after giving a fiery speech and forgot to thank Freddie Mercury by the way. The flight was a success. The player remained unharmed.
2020
In 2019, the Oscars were the first to host: after appointing comedian Kevin Hart as the host of the ceremony, he was criticized by the LGBT community for his homophobic Twitter posts in 2010 and deprived himself of that honor.
In 2020, the award went without an entertainer! And all for the sake of the ratings soaring in 2019 for the same reason.
2021
When Daniel Kalui, star of the movie “Judas and the Black Messiah”, went to win an Oscar for his supporting role, a lot came out of his mouth. She began to talk about the intimate life of her parents, embarrassing her own mother, who was sitting in the living room. “You have to enjoy life guys! We breathe, we walk, it’s incredible. Unbelievable. My mom and dad had sex. This is great. You understand? I am her. Do you understand what I’m talking about? I’m so glad I’m alive.” Even the parent’s face got into the memes.
2021

South Korean star Yoon Ye-jeong from Minari slammed a reporter. The fact is that he spent half the evening arm in arm with Brad Pitt and the reporter decided to ask the actor how he was doing. However, he used such a play on words that non-native English speaker Yoon Ye-jeong asked, “How does Brad smell?” she thought he was asking. The star said bluntly that he wasn’t a dog for everyone to sniff.
