Contemporary art in Russia has long been beyond the borders of Moscow and St. Petersburg and settled in regional cities. Artists from different parts of our country organize large -scale exhibitions, unite art communities and develop a local art industry. And to avoid being unfounded, the Peopletalk editor decided to be sure of the personal experience. Today, we are going to Krasnoyarsk for real Russian and colorful contemporary art.

Scan Fair Fair was released in 2024, but he has already managed to correct the status of the largest art event in the summer in Siberia. The project was implemented in the initiative of the Siberian Institute of Creative Industry Institute and Krasnoyarsk restaurant group Berrywood Family. 43 artists and art groups representing 14 cities of Ural, Siberia and the Far East, 5 gallery and 6 brand lens design.

Between June 25 and June 29, the attraction point of everyone who is not indifferent to modern art will be the region of the creative cluster “square ,, but the Scan Fair will be able to“ find the traces ”as well as Krasnoyarsk. This year, the fair presented a very format parallel program covering the entire city: from museums and restaurants to classrooms, streets, and even the airport. We have already managed to meet regional contemporary art, so we are now ready to share our impressions with you and talk about five galleries who participated in the Scan Fair.

The Modern Siberian Society of Artists, Russia-Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Ulan-Up and Four cities of Yakutsk are creators. At the Scan Fair, they represent a stand called “Siberian Gothic ği that your editor cannot pass.

The concept of Siberian Gothic, as the representatives of the SSCX told us, is familiar with most of the literary works about tourists going to Tyumen Taiga. However, of course, the roots of this idea are much deeper. The terrible lands of the myths, the scary heroes, the gloomy sides of the urban legends, caused mystical, mysterious and inaccessible fear of existence – all of these were reflected in the works of the artists on Siberian Gothic. While maintaining its meaning and visual code, they have already shown the modern readings of this concept.

The Mirase Art Gallery brought an exhibition called “Palimpsest i to UFA Fair from UFA. Artists Azat Basyrov, Madina Aminev and Artem Novocelov prove that this is not only the accumulation of buildings and streets, but a multi -layered archive where each element stores the memories of the buildings and streets.

For example, in Azat Basyrov, the “invisible area” project, we can see that real cracks from the walls of the panel houses have become graphic symbols. In Madina Amineva’s ceramic panel, we can think of the schematic maps of the city neighborhoods from a bird’s view view, and we can think that they are covered with text. And in Artem NovoSelov’s paintings, to feel the real rhythm of urban life through simple forms, random lines and form combinations. Here, the city is a real pallmpsest where each piece and each layer complement each other and bring new meanings.

Irkutsk TSSI project includes the most vivid and various aspects of contemporary art. In the exhibition, you can see everything from printed graphics and sculptures to assembly pictures, panels and photos of street art. Among the participants are authors with completely different artistic experience. Someone started with a classic training and finally added modern approaches. And someone jumped the academic framework and came to art in other ways, brave searches and creative dialogue.

What does it unite all participants? In addition to working with creativity independence, different materials and formats, close cooperation with the center of contemporary art for many years.

The Scan Fair also combines the work of one of Krasnoyarsk’s most striking artists and presents the Siberian Art Gallery the “Center of the World .. The “Contrasts” project was created by craftsmen who knew how to talk about the language of the lines and to return to their peers and their work.

The graphics are a special language, rich, multi -layered and incredibly impressive. Here you will not see anything unnecessary: for an idea, every point, silhouette, texture and image work, give birth to emotions and causes associations. The color here is not only a jewel, but also a thin clue, the key to understanding the meaning, a kind of turning point that helps to read the artist’s message. This art speaks to us not with words, but with sensations. In the meantime, we learned that Krasnoyarsk, who is famous for his programs at the Scan Fair, was particularly important for us to meet his work.

At the booth of the Arca Gallery, the works of artists from Vladivostok, a city like a bridge between cultures and ideas. This is always a point where different worlds intersect, and today the spirit of openness and multiculturalism inspires not only local, but also to grasp the global identity. The authors of the project show their personal stories, a unique style and ways of understanding ourselves and how we perceive ourselves and “others”. His studies raise important questions: Modern society knows how much to protect its values, does it understand what the basis of its cultural code is?

The works of Anton Bubnovsky, Valeria Voshko, Irina Epifanova and Mikhail Chuvakin are four different views on the same subjects. And in this diversity, the audience can find something of his own, and probably see the usual from a new angle.

Will we be friends?
