Director Brady Corbett explains the use of artificial intelligence in his movie Brutalist. He was surprised by the negative reaction to the use of technology on the Internet.

Corbet sees nothing wrong with using the neural network to enhance Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones’ Hungarian dialect and create certain images in the final film.

“Adrian and Felicity’s performances are completely their own. They worked with dialect coach Tanera Marshall for months to perfect their accents. The innovative technology was only used when editing Hungarian dialogue, in particular to clarify certain vowels. The goal was to maintain the authenticity of Adrian and Felicity’s performances, not change them, and to do so with the utmost respect for the craft,” the director told Variety.

He emphasized that “Brutalist” is a film about human complexity and that every aspect of its creation stems from human effort, creativity and collaboration. Corbett said he was proud of his team’s efforts.
