We update our must-see list from time to time. And it would be nice if we fulfill at least half of the planned plan. While some are waiting for the new season of their favorite TV series, others are looking for new products. A long-awaited premiere disappoints, and a film or TV series that no one expected becomes a sensation.
Which movie premieres promise to be hits in 2025? Which actors will we see again in high-profile projects? What will Russian and foreign directors please the audience with?
We asked The Fashion Vibes film columnist and Telegram channel “Remizorro” Artem Remizov, who highlights the most exciting events in the global film industry every month while also sharing new movies to save to your “Must See” list, to answer these questions. .

Let’s be clear: The list is subjective and based on what’s publicly available. We are confident it will expand as the calendar year progresses.
“Bad Girl”
Premiere: January 16
The film, starring Nicole Kidman, is greeted with a very warm welcome. The picture in which the boss of a large company becomes the “toy” of a young intern should amaze with its frankness and sexuality. And her role in this movie may bring Kidman an Oscar nomination.
“The Breakup”, Season 2
Premiere: February 18
Lumon Industries’ already iconic history will finally continue. They promise even more secrets of the office and, of course, very stylish interiors that erase the memory of its employees throughout the working day.

“I overheard in Rybinsk”
Premiere: January 23
The series of the premiere online cinema is called an ironic detective story set in a small town setting where all kinds of crazy things (including mystical ones) happen. There isn’t much of this type of content in our online theaters right now. The leading roles are the “folk” Timofey Tribuntsev and the star of the TV series “The Boy’s Promise” Ruzil Minekaev.
“Presence”
Premiere: January 23
Every new movie from Steven Soderbergh is always an event for movie fans. The picture becomes much more interesting when we talk about a horror movie in which the story is told from the perspective of a ghost living in the house.
“What happened in the autumn?”
Premiere: January 23
The new film by Francois Ozon, released in our cinemas by the guys at A-One, is a holiday for all lovers of French cinema. It is a movie that does not have big stars in its cast, but anyone who likes to collect mushrooms in the forest will enjoy a story full of mysteries.
“Most Valuable Cargo”
Premiere: January
One of the two cartoons in today’s selection by Michel Hazanavicius, the director of the wonderful silent film “The Artist”, for which he received an Oscar in 2012. A family finds a little boy in a snowdrift and tries to give him life, warmth and care despite all obstacles. I entered the main competition of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, if only for a second.
“There is snow in my garden”
Premiere: January
Bakur Bakuradze’s film was appreciated by guests and critics of minor Russian film festivals. Snowy landscapes featuring a story about friendship, nostalgia and self-discovery. A good example of a movie that almost no one knows about.
“The Prophet. The story of Alexander Pushkin”
Premiere: February
Every movie (or series) starring Yura Borisov is now a big deal. Especially if we are talking about the story of the most famous Russian poet, which will be released on February 14. We reserve two tickets.
“White Lotus”, Season 3
Premiere: February
The continuation of the series loved by many. New story, new characters but unfortunately no cool Jennifer Coolidge. But we will be pleased with Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Carey Coon and other talents in the frame. This time the action will take place in Thailand, namely Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok.
“outsource”
Premiere: February
The big series of the online cinema Okko, starring Vanya Yankovsky, promises to explore the dark inner world of man. Prison, money, pain, morality – all this is promised to us in the series by Dushan Gligorov, director of another “dark” series “Khrustalny”.
“Oh Canada”
Premiere: February
Paul Schrader’s new film, starring Richard Gere and Uma Thurman, did not receive many awards this season, but it is frequently included in the ratings of the best films of 2024. Particularly interesting is the story of an interview in which a director had to reveal his difficult and sometimes terrible secret.
“Summer will end”
Premiere: February
February is definitely the month named after Yura Borisov. Another favorite of last year’s film festivals, ‘Summer Will End’, was praised for its sincerity and performance. Also, talented actor candidate Makar Khlebnikov will help Borisov. They will play brothers who decide to steal gold together and run away with it.
“Memoirs of a Snail”
Premiere: February
The film, which was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Animation, tells the story of the friendship of two lonely girls, one of whom collects snails. The animation has very strong reviews, praising its message of kindness and necessity in the modern world.
“End of the World”
Premiere: February
Joshua Oppenheimer’s film will appeal at least to everyone who loves beautiful pictures in movies. Lots of art hanging on the walls, amazing makeup by Tilda Swinton, and the story of a family hiding from the apocalypse in a luxury bunker. One day, their peace is disturbed by the sudden appearance of a surviving girl.
“Monkey”
Premiere: February
The new horror film from the creator of last year’s Longlegs tells the story of a toy monkey who likes to kill people. There’s dark humour, plenty of death and other delights of the genre.
“Everything that seems light to us”
Premiere: March
Payal Kapadia’s film tells the story of two women living in India. They are trying to find pure love, not the love imposed on them by relatives who are drowning in incomprehensible traditions. One of the best movies of 2024, noted by many critics and awards. It’s a big deal for our rental.

“showgirl”
Premiere: March 13
A comeback film for Pamela Anderson, directed by Gia Coppola, granddaughter of the great Francis Ford Coppola. The film is being called a poetic reflection on life and career, and Pam is correctly tipped for an Oscar acting nomination.
“Nothing little in life”
Premiere: March 27
The series, starring Cillian Murphy, performed well at the Berlin Film Festival last year and received good reviews. After Christopher Nolan’s film Oppenheimer, the wide audience learned about Murphy and his talent, which means it is worth watching this film too.
“Death of a Unicorn”
Premiere: March 28
A comedy from studio A24 in which a father and daughter knock down a unicorn and take the monster’s corpse with them, not knowing what to do. As you can imagine, this decision creates immediate problems for them. The movie will please you primarily with its humor. Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega appeared as father and daughter.
The Last of Us, Season 2
Premiere: April
The sequel to the film adaptation of the cult video game, where people try to survive against the background of a zombie apocalypse. In a world where people try not to make noise to avoid being caught by nutcrackers and zombies, new heroes, love and of course death will emerge. Pedro Pascal is still available (in case you’re wondering whether to watch it or not).
“Kraken”
Premiere: April 17
There’s no poster, trailer or footage yet for the “Moving Up” director’s large-scale extravaganza. But it’s on the release schedule, which means it can’t be ignored. We have big problems with big-budget science fiction in the industry, so we attach much more importance to such projects. As the title suggests, this is a story about how an ancient monster from myths (the kraken) appeared in the northern waters, and against the background of this, one brother began to search for the other, who disappeared during the secret mission of one of his relatives. Sasha Petrov stars in the leading roles.
“Legends of our ancestors”
Premiere: May 1
Director Ivan Sosnin continues to explore kindness and bring it to the masses. After the wonderful movie “Alien” and the very cute TV series “South”, Ivan goes to the world of fairy tales to temporarily distract us from troubles and troubles. The film tells the story of a father (Sasha Yatsenko) who begins to hear the voice of an ancient spirit asking him to save disappearing fantastic creatures.
“Stranger Things” Season 5

The final season of one of the important projects in Netflix history will definitely be released in 2025 and will be divided into two parts. It is still unknown when exactly to expect the premiere, but the finale of the story of Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Eleven promises to be quite epic.
Wednesday, Season 2
Premiere: autumn-winter 2025
The super popular series starring Jenna Ortega will be released in 2025, but as you can imagine, Netflix doesn’t like to announce release dates. Well, we’ll wait. However, lead actress Jenna Ortega has already stated that the second season should be much darker and its hero much more ruthless.
“Bear”, Season 4
Premiere: June
The series that made Jeremy Allen White a global superstar will air this summer. One can only guess what will happen to the talented chef and his loved ones.
