Sarah Michelle Gellar is sure the world needs warriors against evil on the big screen again. Now she has no doubt that she is ready to return to her role in the TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
The actor said he came to this conclusion when he recently starred in the movie “Dexter: Original Sin.” “Comic. I always said no because the story is finished and already perfect. But when you watch the Sex and the City sequel or the Dexter sequel, you realize there are ways to do it,” the actress said on The Drew Barrymore Show.
Michelle-Gellar clarified that the film does not have to be a remake or a prequel. The universe of the series offers tremendous opportunities for the development of different stories. The star says that although she looks young, her character in the original movie doesn’t look much like a teenager.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is based on the 1992 film of the same name starring Kristy Swanson. The show ran from 1997 to 2003 and featured Gellar’s Buffy Summers alongside her friends seeking out and destroying vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness.
