The star stated that Keoghan is currently actively preparing for the role. However, other details were not disclosed. “I think it’s great,” Ringo told ET about the casting choices. “I hear he’s taking drum lessons and I hope it’s not too much,” Ringo, 84, added.
Rumors that Keoghan, 32, could play Starr in the upcoming film emerged in June. It was also reported that Harris Dickinson (“Grit of Steel,” “Where the Crawdads Sing”) will play John Lennon, Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, and Charlie Rowe (“Gigi and Nate”). “Rock Wave”) would portray George Harrison.
Sam Mendes, known for his films “1917”, “American Beauty”, “007: Skyfall” and “Revolutionary Road”, will direct four films dedicated to the work of the legendary band from Liverpool.
