We’re less than a month away from the release of Paddington 3. In the new episode, the bear cub becomes a British citizen and goes to Peru with the Brown family to meet Aunt Lucy. The heroes meet new characters played by Antonio Banderas and Olivia Colman. The actors gave a short interview to VK Video in which they shared their feelings about taking part in the project.
According to Olivia Colman, the third part of the film is more reflective. Those who watch it, both children and adults, will be able to adopt the important principles of the main character (kindness, compassion and intelligence) and reflect them on life in general.
It also became clear from the conversation that Antonio Banderas is more interested in the role of an antagonist than a positive character. According to the Hollywood star, the villains in the movies look more “colorful” and thus manage to attract the attention of the audience.
“I talked about this with Anthony Hopkins years ago. He always found the bad guys more interesting. The good guys are flat. That’s true. But the bad guy can develop in different ways. In The Adventures of Paddington 3, this is even more surprising. At one point, the audience thinks about the hero. He may think that he is really the bad guy, but in the end he comes to his senses thanks to Paddington. The bear cub becomes a kind of filter through which my hero begins to understand life in a new way,” said Antonio Banderas.
The cast also includes Hugh Bonneville, Ben Whishaw, Imelda Staunton, Julie Walters and Emily Mortimer. Rachel Zegler was previously in the cast of the film, but left the cast due to her participation in the US actors’ strike. Although the new story about Paddington Bear has not been released yet, it should be noted that the producers are already planning to shoot another episode, including a TV series.
