The rock band is returning to perform live for fans seven years after Chester Bennington’s death in 2017. Linkin Park is going on tour for the first time in a long time with a new lineup.
On November 14, the day before the release of new album From Zero, the band announced a large-scale world tour in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. The tour begins with three shows in Mexico in January, then heads to Japan for a single show in Jakarta, India (the band’s first show there in 13 years). Linkin Park will tour the United States throughout the spring and summer, concluding the tour with concerts in South America in November.
“It was incredible to get back on the road. The support of the fans is huge and we are ready to carry this energy even further around the world. From Zero is a new chapter for us, and we’re excited to share it with everyone on a larger scale,” Mike Shinoda said in a statement to People. Members of the LP Underground fan club will have access to exclusive pre-sale concert tickets starting November 18.
Recall that Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington died tragically in 2017. Shortly after this, the band announced that they were going on hiatus. This September, the band returns with new lead singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Britten from Dead Sara. The announcement was made at a special show where Armstrong performed a selection of the band’s greatest hits and their first single with the new line-up, “The Emptiness Machine”.
