The final trailer of the animated movie Mufasa: The Lion King, the prequel to The Lion King, has been released. The premiere will take place on December 20.
The main plot focuses on Simba’s father, Mufasa, who died tragically at the beginning of the original cartoon. This interpretation would portray Mufasa not as the glorious king of the Pride Lands, but as an orphaned and confused kitten.
As a reminder, Mufasa: The Lion King will be a prequel to the 2019 movie The Lion King, which is a remake of the 1994 classic animated film. Director Barry Jenkins (“Moonlight,” “My Sunshine,” “True Detective”) has previously stated that the new project is both a prequel and a sequel to the “Lion King” story.
Previously, one of the internet users of the social network reacted negatively to the trailer of the animated movie. “Barry, you are too good and talented for Iger’s soulless machine,” one commenter wrote, referring to Disney CEO Bob Iger.

The director responded at the time: “There is nothing soulless about The Lion King.” For decades, children around the world on screen have experienced pain together for the first time and met Shakespeare in many languages. It is the most powerful tool of collective empathy.”
