On average, a bouquet of roses can last about a week, and even if you cut it and add a piece of sugar to the water, the petals will treacherously dry up and fall off. This is the law of life. But what if you try to grow this beauty at home, on the plot or in a pot? After all, beautiful buds really enliven the interior. We tell you how to grow roses from a particular bouquet.
What kind of rose can you grow at home?

Let’s start with the fact that most roses in the store are not suitable for cutting. The fact is that roses brought from other countries are treated with strong chemicals that not only prevent wilting, but also inhibit the development of the root system. Therefore, you need to choose only those flowers that grow near your place of residence.
Let’s say right away that white, cream, yellow and multi-colored roses will not sprout, so for growing at home you need to choose red or pink buds. It is desirable that the stems are dark green without spots. The ideal weather conditions for growing are spring, summer and early autumn.
How to grow roses from a store

Here are some simple rules:
– Cut the bud;
– Using a pruning shears or a knife (not scissors!), make a straight cut two centimeters below the area where the three buds grow;
– Measure one centimeter from the lower bud and make a cut at a 45 degree angle;
– Remove the leaves so that only two leaves remain on the top bud of each cutting.
Since not all cuttings will sprout, it is better to prepare up to 10 pieces in advance. From one stem you can make several cuttings, each 15-20 centimeters long.

Now the future rose needs to be planted. There are several ways to root it: in soil, in potatoes, in bananas, in water and even in newspaper and a bag.
For a rose to grow in soilyou need drainage (expanded clay or small pebbles). The container should contain special soil for roses, which must be moistened with water in advance. Now you need to make a longitudinal cut with a knife treated with alcohol in the lower part of the cutting and dip it in a root growth stimulator. Now you need to make a hole in the soil, insert the cutting and cover it with a plastic bottle with a cut bottom. In this case, the lid does not need to be opened: it is important that there is a greenhouse effect inside. Periodically ventilate the rose by removing the lid. Make sure that the soil is always moist, but do not overdo it. The bottle structure can be removed when the first leaves appear.
To grow roses in potatoesFirst, it is washed, cleaned and a blind hole is made in it the size of a stalk. After soaking in a root growth stimulator, the cuttings are placed in potatoes placed in a container and covered with expanded clay. Potatoes are good because they nourish the rose and protect it from bacteria. Then the seedling is covered with a bottle structure.

For a rose to grow inside a bananathe cuttings are placed inside an unpeeled and cross-cut fruit. It is then covered with soil and sealed with the bottle structure.
For a rose to take root in waterfirst add aspirin for disinfection and stimulating root growth. Then pour into a glass jar and put the cuttings there, then close the container with plastic wrap. For seedlings to germinate, you need to put the jar in a dark place with a temperature of +20 degrees. You need to change the water every 2 days and regularly ventilate by removing the bag. Sprouted roots can be planted in the ground.
To grow roses in a newspaperyou must first soak it in water and squeeze it. Wrap the rose cuttings in completely wet newspaper. Put the package in a dark plastic bag, tie it and put it in a place where the air temperature is +20 degrees. Do not let the paper dry out: spray the bunch regularly with a spray bottle and prevent it from rotting. The roots have appeared – feel free to replant them in the ground.
So when the cuttings are well rooted, they can be planted in the garden or in a pot as a houseplant. If you want to grow a rose bush, be aware that the seedlings must first be transplanted into a larger pot and fertilized with a slow-release fertilizer, and can only be transplanted outside after 9 to 12 months.
