Wild eating is the new trend. Why are Zoomers abandoning food aesthetics?

Forget pretty photos. In China, zoomers have found another way to grab their audience’s attention on social media. They now post photos of themselves eating on the street. This meal is different from a planned picnic because of its spontaneity and lack of aesthetics. The emerging trend is called “animal life” and “wild food.”

To be part of the movement, all you have to do is take a photo with a pot full of food, on a bench or anywhere you have your favorite meal. The priority is simplicity and the opportunity to relax.

According to Jing Daily, the trend reflects a growing sense of escapism among Zoom enthusiasts. The hashtag wildeating has already been viewed more than 76 million times on social networks, with users explaining their decision to join the movement by saying that “wildeating” gives freedom to the beast inside.
