Today, two weeks later, the biographical drama Nika, the debut feature of Vasilisa Kuzmina, a graduate of the Industriya Film and Television School, was released on digital platforms. Here, Lisa Yankovskaya, the daughter of Philip Yankovsky and Oksana Fandera, played her first major role, and this film is also called one of the main premieres of last season. Firstly, there is no doubt that after that we will often see Lisa Yankovskaya on the screens, and secondly, the plot is based on the tragic story of Nika Turbina, who became famous as a child prodigy for her bright poems. At the age of ten he received the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale, and then everyone predicted a great future for him, which unfortunately did not come true. At the age of 27, his life was suddenly interrupted, as in the movie of the same name, a documentary chronicle gave way to a feature film.
Nika Turbina was born in the family of a creative artist Maya Nikanorkina and actor Georgy Torbin and, despite their close separation, grew up surrounded by art: from childhood she read poetry and dictated to her grandmother and mother during insomnia (the girl suffered from asthma and often did not sleep at night). The first victory came to the young poet at the age of seven, his poems were published by Komsomolskaya Pravda on the advice of the famous writer Yulian Semenov, and they learned about him far beyond the borders of his native Crimea. Including his future patron, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, who wrote the foreword to his first collection “The Draft” (translated into 12 languages) and contributed, despite his age, to enter the literary circles of Moscow and at the age of 10. He took part in the international poetry festival “Poets and the World” as part of the Venice Biennale, for which he received the main prize.
Of course, not everyone believed that he wrote all the poems himself, but he answered this only with new works (for example, “Am I writing my own poems?” in 1982). His age and eagerness to read his own lines surprised everyone, although later some noted that perhaps there was nothing surprising in his gift. After one of the conversations, they started talking about the fact that his real father is Andrei Voznesensky (a well-known master of impressive reading), but this version was never officially confirmed.
And then Moscow happened in his life, the second marriage of his mother and sister Maria (about this he wrote: “… Just, do you hear, do not leave me alone. All my poems will turn into trouble”) , a trip to the USA, the truth of which has not yet been determined A meeting with Joseph Brodsky, who was born in the middle of nowhere: only his grandmother spoke of him three times and each time in a new way.
In fact, Nika Turbina dreamed of becoming an actress, but did not succeed in this field: at the age of nine she starred in Yevgeny Yevtushenko’s film “Kindergarten”, at the age of 15 she starred in the film “She was by the sea” by Ayan Shakhmaliyeva. and never appeared on the screen again. At least himself. At the time of taking the second picture in his life, he had already stopped reading poetry, but nevertheless wrote and even published the second and final collection “Steps go up, down …” – already without the support of Yevgeny Yevtushenko, those who thought that his mother and grandmother were drawing money from him.
He later writes about her:
You are the guide and I am the blind old man.
You are the conductor. I’m leaving without a ticket!
One more question left unanswered
And the ashes of my friends are piling on the ground.
You are the voice of the people. I am a forgotten poem.
As he got older, it became more like the “forgotten verse” he was talking about. Once called child prodigy and genius, they prophesied about a great future, they listened to large crowds, but his popularity tended to decline with age – and he lived through it very hard. Friends recalled that in high school Nika Turbina got into serious trouble (to protest society, which apparently forgot about her): she began to drink, change men, attempt suicide, and even quit her studies at VGIK in the workshop. A year after the adoption of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan. Then he went to Switzerland with his psychiatrist, Giovanni Mastropaolo, and started living with him, spitting on the age difference of 50. But this romance did not last long, and a year later she returned to Russia, where she began to look for work.

During this period, Alena Galich, a teacher at the Moscow Institute of Culture, appeared in the life of the once great poetess, whom Nika Turbina was accepted without exams. They became friends, and the latter again turned to poetry, but the desire for alcohol was overcome once: she was just over 20 and went to Yalta to her next lover, missed exams and tried to recover for a long time after studying. .
A few more years, and as the author of no children’s poetry, Nika Turbina was no longer remembered at all: in the late 90s she could not find a job, she tried to launch her television by cutting herself with scripts for children’s shows. Project on failed suicides. And the poetess herself no longer remembered her early works. In the early 2002s, on May 11, 2002, Nika Turbina died tragically, falling from the sill of the fifth floor window as a result of an accident. Some still call it suicide, for example the writer and literary critic Dmitry Bykov says: “Writers are alcoholics, they cheat, it’s not even a joke, they are writers only when they don’t write. This is a terrible stress in itself and it is not possible to compensate for it with other activities. The same thing happens to the young poet Nika Turbina, who jumped out the window after ten years of depression.” Researchers of her work, almost 20 years after the death of Nika Turbina, agreed: the promising girl was brought into such a situation by her own family, who exploited her for the sake of fame and profit, and at the same time forgot about health. and child psychology. A new movie has been made about this unhealthy love – mostly motherhood. In it, Nika Turbina is 27 years old (before the fateful May 11 there is little left), and her relations with her mother leave much to be desired: she knows that there will be no poetry that once glorifies her daughter, so she tries to squeeze most of her rich suitors out of your own child. And the main character, after a series of almost worldwide popularity and a brutal return to reality, is just trying to find himself again and dream of love. And also – that no one bothers with requests to read poetry.
