Jennifer Lopez is sincere about the importance of sleep after a panic attack caused by exhaustion early in her career, and a good night’s sleep can make her look ten years younger.
The 52-year-old, who spends seven to nine hours in bed every night, learned about his sleeping habits in the latest newsletter. On JLo † She admitted that she only started prioritizing sleep after a health problem in the late 1990s.
“There have been times in my life where I slept three to five hours a night. I’d be on set all day and running around the studio all night and on weekends shooting videos,” he wrote. “I was in my early twenties and thought I was invincible.”

Lopez (pictured in 1995) wrote that she had panic attacks in her early 20s and was “afraid” of going crazy. He later learned that it was due to fatigue.
But after JLo lit the candle at both ends, she changed her mind and suffered a crippling panic attack.
“I was in a trailer, and all the work and stress that came with it, along with not getting enough sleep to mentally recuperate, caught up with me,” she recalls. “I went from feeling very normal to thinking about what I was going to do that day, and suddenly I felt like I couldn’t move anymore.”
Lopez said she was “totally frozen” and didn’t know what was going on.
“I couldn’t see clearly and then the physical symptoms started to frighten me and the fear got worse,” he said. “I now know it’s a classic panic attack caused by fatigue, but I had never heard of that term back then.”
Lopez explained that she was “scared” when the security guard took her to the doctor.

The “Marry Me” star also says her age-defying looks are getting enough rest, saying that “sleep for me is the most underrated beauty secret there is.”

The singer’s doctor gave her life-changing advice, telling her to get seven to nine hours of sleep a night, avoid caffeine, and find a balance between exercise and work.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine states that adults need at least seven hours a night for optimal health. Anything less than the recommended amount can lead to adverse health effects, including increased anxiety.
“I realized how dire the consequences could be if I ignored what it takes to keep my body and mind healthy, and that’s where my wellness journey began,” Lopez wrote.
The “Marry Me” star also credits her age-defying look with enough rest, saying “sleep for me is the most underrated beauty secret there is.”

“I think of sleep as a little time machine,” he explained. “You lie down and enter an area you care about, and then you come out as a newer and younger person than before.
“Sometimes I wake up and say, ‘Wow! I just lost 10 years of sight!” That’s what a good night’s sleep can do for you, and it increases over time.’

While ten years is a long time for most people, there is a link between sleeping and looking younger.
Michael J. Breus, clinical psychologist and diplomat on the American Board of Sleep Medicine, explains in an article for Psychology Today: ‘Sleeping well is like doing all the spa work.’
“Sleep is the best time for the body to repair and repair itself at the cellular level,” he wrote. “A fleet of hormones that promote cell health and a youthful appearance is activated during sleep.”
