Filming of Major Grom: The Game, the third in the Bubble comic series, continued this spring on the territory of the Sestroretsk Tool Factory, founded by Peter the Great. And we, together with our colleagues, were lucky to be in the middle of the events, seeing Oleg Trofim at work, learning the first details about the project in conversations with its writers and actors, and even conducting a genuine journalistic investigation. “express” format. But first things first.

While a children’s soccer game was taking place near the set, the cameras on our phones were taped down to the screams of the fans – footage of the new “Major Grom” and many details of the plot are held rigidly. Trust by its creators.

And given the success of the first part of the series and the excitement around “The Game”, this is not only understandable, but also justified, because the writers have something to really surprise the audience.

And while we unfortunately didn’t manage to get to the main spoilers, the scale of what happened in Sestroretsk that day was incredible even without them. For example, imagine huge reflective screens on a building more than a century old, or a wooden labyrinth built directly inside the factory.

And from the second floor, both long-loved and new heroes of the story about Major Grom look at him: police colonel Fyodor Prokopenko (Aleksey Maklakov), Lieutenant General Maria Arkhipova (Olga Sutulova), heir to the arms company, Dutch August van der Holt (Matvey Lykov) and bodyguard Otto (Andrey Trushin).

According to the actors, the same scene is dedicated to the testing of high-tech robots, which we will see later at the beginning of the “Game”, which, according to Maria Arkhipova’s plan, should increase human resources. your police. Does the main character played by Tikhon Zhiznevsky agree with this? Of course not.

And therefore, not everything goes according to plan during the tests, but if later we see the robots themselves, explosions and shots on the big screens, then instead of the effects on the set, there is only the voice of the director. Oleg Trofim imitates the flight of equipment and shoots from explosions.

Our friends from Kinopoisk briefly explained what happened. Generally, he shares: “As in the case of The Plague Doctor, we are free to approach the subject of adaptation: we need a space to surprise the audience. For the comic, the Game is the climax, but for the MCU, it’s just part of the story, not the climax, that is, it has no end.” Bubble’s editor-in-chief Roman Kotkov reiterates it, fueling the fire: “We’re not going to do a frame-by-frame comic anyway, and Major Grom Anything can happen in the cinematic universe of . I’m sure you certainly didn’t expect what you saw.”

In fact, the project team is betting big on the sequel – a “huge professional step forward” in their view, both in terms of the story itself and what the film represents for the industry in principle.

But back to the movie. Protagonist Tikhon Zhiznevsky, echoing his colleagues, promises that the Game will be the most complex story in the nascent series, giving Igor Grom “more depth and volume.” According to the actor, if in the first part the qualities of his character were only determined, then this time it’s time to reveal them: “Anger, fear, joy, despair – all stronger, more voluminous, more humane.”

By the way, the interview with Tikhon Zhiznevsky gives a couple with Alexander Seteykin, which we will see more often in the new picture than The Plague Doctor.

He shares that his character has grown and the events in the movie “threw Dima Dubin in different directions, shaking the protagonist’s emotional pendulum.”
