Serbian singer Konstrakta talks about Meghan Markle’s ‘healthy hair’ at the Eurovision Song Contest

Serbia’s voice in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest went viral on social media after she referenced Meghan Markle in the opening text.

Konstrakta, 43, from Belgrade, Serbia, performed in a white shirt and matching pants, performing “In Corpore Sano”, meaning “healthy body” in Latin, in the final against 16 other nations competing against the top 16.

Referring to the Duchess of Sussex in the opening text of the song about health, “What could be the secret to Meghan Markle’s healthy hair? What could it be? What could be the secret to Meghan Markle’s healthy hair? What could it be?’

A mix of Serbian and Latin, the lyrics were praised by Eurovision Song Contest fans.

Konstrakta, 43, spoke about Meghan Markle (pictured) in her song “In Corpore Sano” from Belgrade, Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Konstrakta, who worked in the field of architecture before becoming a musician, has been performing since 2001.

He explained to the organizers of the Eurovisionest Song Festival that his song is not about the Duchess of Sussex, but that we live in an age where health is “the highest value”.

The Serbian singer said he hopes listeners can connect to the song, even though it’s in two different languages.

Konstrakta said: “Meghan Markle is not that important here, but she is representative of all the people we reach out to in the media.

“She hasn’t contacted me yet, but I want her to know! This is a song about the atmosphere in which we live, where health is of the highest value.’

After mentioning the Duchess of Sussex, she goes on to sing about the importance of hydration and how skin and hair respond when health needs to be improved.

Konstrakta explained that the song was designed to make listeners think about the importance of health care and society’s misfocused on beauty standards.
