7 out-of-town restaurants worth leaving Moscow for

They say there is no life outside the Moscow Ring Road, but we have a few good reasons not to believe it. With the start of the patio season, finding free tables in Moscow restaurants has become more difficult than before Christmas. And we decided to tackle this problem simply – to go out looking for a place to dine al fresco away from the centre. Moreover, there is life outside the city for a long time, the metro and even Michelin restaurants.

We have collected seven restaurants near Moscow that are worth leaving the center of Moscow and “slowing down” for at least a couple of hours.

Biology

Opens a selection of two Michelin-starred gastrobistro chef Ekaterina Alekhina. The project positions itself as a superecho. Biologie applies zero waste, reduces its carbon footprint and melts glass into decorative items. And on the territory of the restaurant there is a laboratory where menu dishes are developed and fermented, and even their own mini-farm for growing greens.

eno bistro

Just half an hour from the center of Moscow – and you are in Skolkovo on a new project from the Folk team and Vinicom. The suburban format combined the enogastronomical Eno bistro, wine cellar and Wine Skills conference room under one roof. And all this with the author’s dishes by chef Evgeny Tsyganov and wine list by sommelier chef Marusya Milovidova. And the word “bistro” defined the genre – a clear menu, relaxed service, pleasant atmosphere. A fascinating view outside the panoramic windows, which you will not find in Moscow and so soon – a large garden-patio.

Runway

You can check out The Rink family park without leaving Skolkovo. In winter, Muscovites come here for the famous ice rink, but in summer they come here to play badminton or tennis, do yoga or just relax in the open air. On the territory of the park there is a cafe of the same name, on the menu of which there is a huge selection of keto dishes. But if you prefer to eat meat on the fire or have burgers and pizza outdoors, they serve it here as well.

“Green Lake”

The restaurant is located on the territory of the private country club “Green Lake”. For a complete reset, guests of the complex are also offered a lakeside beach, outdoor pool, eco-road, Russian bath and even hammam. The restaurant’s menu includes dishes from the comfort food category – various types of pizza, grilled meat and even pickles. However, in the evening, the restaurant has a dress code – therefore, it is better to abandon beach clothes in favor of an unobtrusive cocktail outfit.

“Library”

Peredelkino Creativity House features a restaurant with bookshelves, a fireplace and a large summer terrace overlooking the forest. The menu includes dishes from 18th century Russian cuisine. So here you can easily find duck and smoked farmhouse sour cream borscht, mushroom barley porridge and parsnip puree and veal tongue. The library also hosts traditional tea parties. But for coffee lovers, the bar menu has a huge selection of drinks on grain from Moscow roasters Rockets Coffee.

“Dock”

Arkady Novikov’s country restaurant is located near the village of Ilyinskoye. Guests here are surprised by the dishes of several cuisines at once: Russian, Eastern, Caucasian, European and even Japanese. So you can try wraps, barbecue and khachapuri for dinner. For those who want to relax in a big company, the restaurant also has a beach and a bungalow.

fish point

Fans not only eat fresh fish here, but also catch it. Two restaurants on the Novorizhskoye and Simferopolskoye highways stand on ponds where you can take a fishing line and catch crucian or carp. The cooks will clean and cook your prey. But fishing is not necessary. An equally pleasant way to spend the day is to just rent a gazebo, look at the water and the forest, have snacks and fish caught by fishermen, or order Karelian trout, Belgorod carp and sturgeon near Moscow. And enjoy.
