“School Bus” remembers that a real tragedy can be worse than any fiction.

The film “School Bus” with Matthew McConahi tells a story based on the events of the Campfire Fire, which took place in 2018 in California. The real tragedy, the basis of the photo, is so dramatic that it may seem to be fiction itself.

In the middle of the plot is the driver of the Kevin Mckay school bus. When the fire started to approach the district quickly, he put 22 students and a primary school teacher in a bus and decided to withdraw from the disaster area.

The flame spread at an incredible speed and every kilometer from the road turned into a test. These events really took place and Kevin alone managed to lead the children through a fire chaos, but the film improves the tension and adds artistic details.

In the film version, the hero is worried about his son, who is reportedly stayed in Magaly. In reality, however, Kevin’s real family was already in the safe evacuation zone in Chiko before he found out. This storyline was invented one of the elements by director Paul Greengrad because of a larger drama.

The makers of the photo have also changed the circumstances of the journey.

  • The film shows scenes with looters armed with people and a complete loss of communication – in fact there were no such episodes.
  • In reality, the bus was in a tight stream of cars at a location of about 30 miles for almost five hours, and the driver had to look for weighs.
  • But attempts to go around the cork was stopped by road services.

The connection was kept from time to time and Kevin managed to report her place of residence.

Nevertheless, the basis of history really remained. McCay really saved 22 school children, a teacher and another young teacher who turned out to be in the way. And the fire took the lives of 85 people away and destroyed tens of thousands of houses.

The most important roles in the film were played by Matthew McConahs, America Ferrer and Yul Vasquez. The photo was taken by the Apple Studios Studio and was released in 2025. The assessment on IMDB is 7.2 out of 10 and 8 %on rotten tomatoes. Despite the freedom of the script, the film received positive reviews for the atmosphere, acting and visual reliability.
