It’s not just Major Grom: 10 Russian superheroes from the comics that will give the Avengers a chance

The Avengers are good, of course, but the domestic superheroes don’t stand still. Some dry facts: When Netflix bought Major Grom: The Plague Doctor, based on the Bubble comic book two years ago, it became the most-watched movie on the platform in just 24 hours. And this was clearly just the beginning. This year, for example, the premiere of the prequel “Thunder” took place, a sequel is in development, and we are also waiting for a series about another domestic superhero – Red Fury. Who’s this? We are talking about him and other “Avengers” with a residence permit in Russia!

Major Igor Grom

The same Major Grom from the film of the same name by Oleg Trofim with Tikhon Zhiznevsky. Grom, from the pages of the Bubble comics St. Petersburg police investigator. He believes in justice, has incredible strength and is honest – this makes him an ideal servant of the law and a fighter against the forces of evil.

Lilia Romanova

Lilia Romanova is the protagonist of the Bubble Exlibrium comic series about the adventures of a young girl in the world of literary magicians. One day, she accidentally enters the Readers’ Guild, whose main task is to maintain the boundaries between everyday reality and the world of fiction, and who has mastered her supernatural powers and has the ability to emit destructive rays from her eyes and mouth. Along with other students, he will have to face the villains and solve problems caused by the escape of literary characters from the books.

Danila Besoboy

Bubble comics are back in business! The series about Danil Besoboy aired for almost nine years, from 2012 to 2021, and depicts a warrior against demons hunting down the enemies that fill Moscow due to the war that began in Hell after Satan was overthrown from the throne. By the way, there is a reference to Besoboy in the movie “Major Grom: The Plague Doctor” – remember the episode where they talk about the “rat killer”? This is the nickname given to our hero by special services on the pages of comics.

Red Fury

Or simply Nika Chaykina, a professional thief and special agent at the International Agency for Control (IAC), which prevents military conflicts around the world. And together with his teammates, the IAC will have to fulfill its main task – to find the “Holy Grail” – an ancient, powerful artifact on which the fate of the whole world depends. Meanwhile, the series, which is adapted from the Bubble comic book series, is planned to start shooting this year, but there are no details about the project yet. It is only known that his name will be “Rage”, and the producers of the series will be Artem Gabrelyanov, Mikhail Kitaev and Olga Filipuk, who worked on “Major Grom”.
