A competition model for those who have speed in their blood

Toyota Gazoo Racing has launched a new GR Supra GT4 competition model for this 2023 season, offering improvements in braking, handling and engine performance. To this end, it relied heavily on customer and driver input to improve this racing car, which is already a champion in three regions: Japan, the United States and Europe, and which stood on the podium more than 100 times. Since the first full racing season in 2020, more than 50 GR Supra GT4 units have been raced around the world and customers have won victories in 11 national and international GT4 championships.

In August this year, the car celebrated its 50th category victory in a major championship. However, competition in the popular GT4 category is very intense and development of the GR Supra GT4 has continued with an EVO update for next season, to ensure Toyota Gazoo Racing customers can continue to get the best possible results going forward achieve.

Since the vehicle’s launch, Toyota Gazoo Racing engineers have supported customer teams and drivers on tracks around the world, gaining valuable insights that can only be achieved under the pressure of track competition.

User feedback and requests have been incorporated directly into the development of the GR Supra GT4 EVO, in line with Toyota’s commitment to continuous improvement and the development of ever-better racing cars for our customers.

Following constructive feedback from customers and the results of detailed evaluations, Toyota Gazoo Racing development engineers focused on three key areas: braking, ride feel and engine. And thanks to the improved braking system design, new ABS settings, the latest KW damping technology and a new anti-roll bar specification, the GR Supra GT4 EVO offers a better driving feel and higher cornering speed.

Drivers will be able to achieve better lap times thanks to the increased power and optimized torque curve of the 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged engine, which incorporates more efficient cooling. Toyota Gazoo Racing’s close collaboration with its GT4 teams and drivers, and their valuable first-hand feedback, has helped set concrete targets for the new model. Thus, the GR Supra GT4 EVO is easier to control for the most daring amateur pilots, while at the same time offering the precision required by professional pilots.

The GR Supra GT4 EVO will debut in January 2023 at the Daytona 24 Hours, the first round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season; and from October 28, 2022, the GR Supra GT4 EVO will be available to order, and an upgrade kit will also be made available to existing GR Supra GT4 customers.
