Ordinary restaurants have become boring for you and you want to go not only to have a delicious meal (now you will not surprise anyone in Moscow), but also to get new, unusual impressions? We share a list of places to eat tartare, scallops, and steak, as well as something to do and see.
semper

You can almost find yourself in the forest without leaving the center of Moscow. The Semper restaurant on Bolshaya Dmitrovka has 400 living plants throughout, ship-wood furniture, giant brutal benches like tropical palm trunks. All this attracts urbanists, florists, fans of eco-design and anyone who wants to be in a cozy atmosphere among the “forest” – even more likely at a quiet party in the forest. And if you sit not at a separate table, but at a common table, then you can also meet interesting people. Grab a glass, bake bread and watch your surroundings.

zemlya moscow

The first planetary restaurant in Moscow. Both the menu (both food and cocktails) and the establishment area are built on the concept of four elements: the main hall of the 4 elements, the Water Bar, which is “responsible” for water, 2 Vip rooms – “Fire” and “Earth” and a patio “Air”. Take a cocktail from the most popular “Weather” episode, the super sweet “Earth” and slowly think about the relationship of all the elements.

Short list. Books and Spirits
A bar where you can mix, read or buy right there under a highball cocktail. The room is divided into two zones – the main hall and in the depths – a room with books and cocktails. The books include many contemporary authors and non-fiction books on art, gastronomy, history and other popular topics of the day. It plays on the vinyl background. You can also eat here: the original and rather extensive menu changes according to the season.
Address: St. Petrovka, 26, building 3
“Parts”
Would you like to have lunch at the hospital or in a prison cell? Safe and great fun! “The Pieces” is an immersive cafe in Shabolovka, where the hall is divided into thematic zones and the waiters take care of it accordingly. It makes an impression as soon as you walk in! And most importantly, the food here is excellent – a rarity for establishments where the main ingredient is the show.
Address: St. Shabolovka, 63, building 1
“Expedition. Northern Cuisine»

The restaurant, which is probably the first to offer traditional northern products such as stroganina, sugudai and other dishes, turned 20 this year. The menu reflects all regions of Russia, and all products are brought by employees from expeditions. There are many exotic among them. Also, the “Sefer” has a quota of deer milk (and in Moscow there are very few of them), it is served as a real delicacy.
The interior here is also outstanding: there are the famous helicopter, pine trees and, of course, many authentic Northern artifacts brought from expeditions. And on the veranda there are technological igloos.
Bonus: The restaurant has a deli, so you can take home some northern flavors.

Abbey Player’s

Inspired by the history and scenery of Dublin’s Abbey National Irish Theatre, the two-story pub is itself a stage for performances by young Moscow directors. So here you can have a glass of good beer, eat marrow veal tartare or get cucumbers drunk in beer and watch a performance at the same time.
Address: St. N. Arbat, 5
“Chamber of Secrets” Black Swan
A secret bar that looks more like a church is tucked away in one of Solyanka’s cellars. You can get there from the Black Swan pub – a series of salt cellar corridors. Organ pipes behind the bar, antique 18th-century stained glass windows from St John’s Church in Battersea, cast-iron windows from a Methodist chapel in north Wales, an old tapestry of a bewildered lion and a bloodthirsty pig, velvet pews, a bell for everyone to ring and a medieval wine cellar. But fear not: it’s not about religion, it’s about alchemy and the will to live: the goal of the bar builders is to stun everyone and give divine pleasure.
Address: Solyanka, 1/2, entrance from Black Swan Pub
Bibirev. Beer and Food»

Another beer project that combines seemingly incompatible sports, gastronomy and contemporary art.
When you find yourself in a restaurant, you see tables with white tablecloths, Italian designer porcelain, Zalto glasses for beer, and ironic contemporary art. It makes you feel like you are in a fine restaurant. But instead of a wine list, here’s a beer modeled on a wine list: There are about 200 positions, 16 of which are on tap. Beer is presented by country, including historic beer regions. The main idea is a modern interpretation of the world’s national cuisines, from crispy wings to spaghetti with bottarga to ravioli with crab and salmon.
There are also 40 flexible TV screens showing over 100 sports channels from all over the planet. And the waiters are in Adidas tracksuits.
Address: Ukraine Boulevard, 15
“Hamburger”

Burger-video lounge – how did you find it? This is the first time we see this. The institution plays the style of the 90s: collages from foreign boxes and imported cigarette packs, posters of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Madonna, hamburgers with french fries, milkshakes and movies translated by Volodarsky from a rare VCR. The Burger video theater collection includes more than 200 videotapes of movies with monophonic nasal translation that are probably familiar to anyone over the age of thirty. Film screenings are held every day and tincture is applied to anyone who brings a VHS tape from home. It’s an opportunity to rummage through your family’s home and come here to take a sip of the air of freedom that spilled in those dashing reckless times.
Address: St. Petrovka, 30/7
