The events in the film describe how an Italian artist, accused of murdering a rival and sentenced to death, fled from Rome to Naples. The Creator challenges the church, using beggars, thieves, and women of easy virtue as models for writing biblical stories. When Pope Paul V finds out about this, he applies to the Vatican’s secret service. After that, an undercover envoy is sent to Naples with an investigation, with the fate of the scandalous genius now in his hands.
The main role was played by Riccardo Scamarcho, known for the films “The Perfect Trap”, “Brutal”, “Three meters above the sky”. The series also starred Isabelle Huppert and Louis Garrel.
