The pre-Christmas fuss is in full swing, the Russians are already cutting salads and buying sparkling wine, and the day after tomorrow will be 2023. According to tradition, on a festive night, we not only make wishes and light sparklers, but also overeat a month in advance. And then we get on the scales and we cry and promise ourselves not to do this again. This year we invite you to fulfill your promise (at least a little) and “improve” the New Year’s table. Our health nutritionist and cookbook author, columnist Marika Kravtsova will help us with this. He shared useful life tips especially for The Fashion Vibes.

Oddly enough, my main advice for improving the holiday table will be far from gastronomy. After all, the main thing is not the food, not the service, but the atmosphere – and here we cannot conditionally delegate responsibility to the “manufacturer”, because we produce it only ourselves. Choosing provocative topics for conversations and trying to re-educate adult relatives by criticizing their eating habits is equally harmful. So let’s postpone the “rescue” of our aunts, mothers, grandmothers for a while and not ruin anyone’s holiday with the mayonnaise in Olivier’s recipe.
If guests have come to you, then you have the right to set your own rules at home, and nothing will stop you from making the meal a little easier and minimizing the consequences of this awkward night.
Routine
Don’t turn the vacation into a weekday full of obligations. If you don’t want to cook something, just don’t cook. The most harmful food is tears, irritation and dishes prepared from the last strength. In the modern civilized world, not a single person has died of starvation on New Year’s Eve. But sometimes it’s easier to create your own than to pick a few items from a wide variety of delivery menus.
Alcohol

I hope no one is mistaken about the existence of healthy doses of alcohol for the body. Yet what is harmful to the body is sometimes very beneficial to the soul. Sparkling is an invariable component of the New Year’s celebration formula: without it the snow will not be fluffy, the garlands will be bright, and the eyes will shine! To reduce the harm from drinking, I suggest you follow a few simple rules.
- It is good when there is only one type of alcohol on the table.
- Less is more – we buy the most expensive wine out of the budget wines, then the “less is better” rule works effectively.
- For every glass of champagne there should be two glasses of water – so it will be easier for the body to process alcohol, and weeding out the drunk will not work.
- Alcohol goes very poorly with sugar, so even on the festive table you should immediately decide – sweets or wine.
olivier salad

As much as nutritionists may scare us, there’s nothing monstrous about this controversial salad. It is quite possible to get such an eclectic combination of products once a year. Alternative oliviers will consist of a slightly more friendly material orchestra. For example, this vegan option can be considered a medicine.
mayonnaise
Many familiar and favorite salads can be “saved” without sacrificing taste by replacing store-bought mayonnaise with homemade dressings. Store-bought mayonnaise is low-quality butter, preservatives, egg substitutes, and unspecified flavors. I think that’s reason enough to quickly put together a few simple and delicious ingredients!
vegetarian mayonnaise

Tofu can be replaced with the same amount of boiled chickpeas or a ripe avocado in this veggie mayonnaise.
Homemade classic mayonnaise

Cooking homemade classic mayonnaise is not much more difficult. The only caveat is that eggs (even quail ones) need to be washed, as the infection is transmitted from the shell to dishes with raw eggs.
The resulting sauce will have quite a store-bought level of fat content, but it’s definitely made from healthy ingredients and we can easily spend the extra calories on a walk, which I highly recommend to wrap up the festive night for all of us. .
I also ask you not to sprinkle ashes on your head and “punish” yourself by a marathon distance for every “misconduct”. It is enough to know exactly what you eat, basically to have a healthy diet that meets all the basic needs of the body. And of course, it is absolutely necessary to experience positive emotions, to love life and to act, to act, to act, not only at the table!
Do not forget that nature helps us in this, which covers the road to 2023 with a precious white carpet! Holiday congratulations!
