Zewa, Libresse and Libero leave Russia
Essity, which owns Zewa, Tork, Libero, Lotus, Libresse, TENA and other brands, is leaving the Russian market. According to the company’s report, this has been impacted by worsening business conditions.
– said the head of the company Magnus Groth.
He also warned that the prices of the company’s products would rise to offset the sharp rise in energy costs.
The company manufactures toilet paper and other paper products (paper towels, wipes, napkins), personal care products (panty liner, tampons), professional hygiene products and diapers. It has three Essity factories and 1,300 employees in Russia.
Due to the political situation, many Western brands previously left the Russian market or restricted their work. Thus, this week, household chemicals manufacturer Henkel, which owns Persil, Pemos, Laska and other brands, also announced the gradual cessation of business in Russia.
Due to the previous separation of companies in Russia, the demand for personal care products, including tampons and pads, has increased. Russian customers began buying them, fearing that the prices would rise, and then began selling them on Avito at inflated prices.
