‘The Banshees Of Inisherin’, ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ lead nominations for Australia’s AACTA International Awards

The Banshees by Inisherin and Everything everywhere at once leads the nominations for the 12th edition of the AACTA International Awards with six nominations each. They were followed by elvis with four nominations.

Presented by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), the awards focus on content created worldwide until 2022, as determined by Australia’s leading filmmakers and content creators. The award ceremony will take place practically on February 24, 2023.

Everything everywhere at once was nominated for best film, best director for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and also achieved great success in the acting categories with best actress for Michelle Yeoh, best supporting actor for Ke Huy Quan, and best supporting actor for Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu.

The Banshees by Inisherin was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay (both Martin McDonagh), along with Best Actor for Colin Farrell, Best Supporting Actor for Brendan Gleeson, and Best Supporting Actor for Kerry Condon.

Also nominated for Best Picture elvis, Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick. elvis also received nominations for Best Director for Baz Luhrmann, Best Actor for Austin Butler as Elvis, and Best Supporting Actress for Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla (see full list of nominations below).

elvis also recently dominated the Australia-focused AACTA Awards ceremony, taking home trophies for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Austin Butler) and Best Actress (Olivia DeJonge).

In the television categories Australian productions sad high and Mystery Road: Origins are both nominated along with Best Drama Series dismissal, strange things and The bear. Best Comedy Series nominees include The White Lotus: Sicily, Wednesday, Only murders in the building, The Wonderful Mrs. Maisel and Cap.
