Super Nintendo World officially opens on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Universal Studios Hollywood, it was announced today. The opening is the official arrival of Super Nintendo World in the United States – Universal Studios Japan got a version of the theme land in 2021.
The brand new, dynamic land will be located in a newly expanded area of Universal Studios Hollywood in the lower part of the park near the Transformers attraction. Guests enter Super Nintendo World through the iconic Warp Pipe.
Super Nintendo World features a Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge attraction as well as many interactive activities designed to introduce the whole family to the fascinating kingdom of mushrooms. There will also be themed dining at Toadstool Cafe and shopping at 1-UP Factory Store.
From the moment guests pass through the Warp Pipe, they enter Peach’s Castle before venturing further into the Mushroom Kingdom. With the purchase of an upgrade band—wearable, interactive wristbands—guests can deepen their interactions across the country.

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge: This all-new ride promises to “seamlessly merge the latest in augmented reality with projection mapping technology and real-life set pieces along a moving ride track. Against a backdrop of color, sound and motion, guests take their seats in stadium-style four-seater vehicles as they navigate familiar courses navigate through the creative use and integration of head-mounted AR glasses, touted as “a key differentiator that sets this attraction apart from other theme park rides”. The premise of Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is simple yet challenging, and is designed to appeal to guests of all ages, regardless of gaming experience. As part of Team Mario, guests navigate underwater and cloud courses to compete for the Gold Cup, collecting coins to defeat Team Bowser and win. Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is meant to be a repeatable ride with different outcomes.
Install bean poles: This towering landmark in the heart of the country also serves as the launch pad for Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.
Bowser’s Castle: Decorated with a sculpture of a tall and powerful Bowser, this structure serves as an important focal point of the land and home of Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge. As guests navigate the winding corridors and pass through the Hall of Medallions and Trophies, they learn more about Bowser’s calculated plans to defeat Team Mario for the coveted Gold Cup.
power up tires: These wearable, state-of-the-art wristbands sync with Universal Studios Hollywood’s free downloadable app to enhance the guest experience and enhance the many interactive elements. This includes but is not limited to tracking individual and team results, collecting digital coins and obtaining keys after winning challenges across the country. Power-up bands also invite guests to have very special interactions with Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach. They will come in six character-themed design options and will be available both on land and in theme park and CityWalk stores.
Interactive game: In the country can guests play real game including punches? Blocks for collecting digital coins. Interactive binoculars with augmented reality technology will reveal new features in the country. Guests can complete the four key challenges and collect keys from the Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Piranha Plant and Thwomp interactive activities to finally participate in the ultimate boss battle with Bowser Jr.
mushroom cafe: The country’s signature restaurant serves a menu perfected by Chef Toad, who greets guests as they enter. Freshly prepared daily dishes include Toadstool Cheese Garlic Knots, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger, ? Block Tiramisu and Princess Peach Cupcakes.
1-UP Factory: The 1-UP Factory Store features collectibles, including an extensive line of merchandise, from Mario and Luigi clothing to iconic character hats and a range of plush figures including Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser.
Universal Studios Orlando is also getting a Super Nintendo World.
Of course universal and enlightenment comes Super Mario Bros. Movie Debuts on April 7, 2023.
