The AVENGERS: THE KANG DYNASTY writers would have had the Young Avengers beat Kang… only to have a funny twist

Our next Avengers adventure will see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes battle the great enemy Doctor Doom, but everyone knows that before that idea was floated, we were preparing to see them clash with Kang the Conqueror.

Actor Kang Jonathan Majors he appeared in the role in both Loki AND Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawhere the studio was laying the groundwork for him to become the next big bad. But Majors became the center of a domestic violence incident, and Marvel fired him and quickly moved on to the new storyline.

Now that the details of the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty they are no longer intended for Canon, the film’s co-writer Michele Waldron revealed a fun piece of the puzzle that would have fallen apart if the movie had been made.

Waldron explained during a Q&A session on Reddit: “Jeff Loveness and I spent an afternoon pitching the Young Avengers to defeat a version of Kang and I was so excited about it… only to find that that particular Kang was carrying a little card that said: Be patient with him, it was his first day as Kang. And then they were so disappointed. I think it would have been Kang the lizard from the end Kang Dynasty? I do not know. We had fun anyway.”

This sounds like it would have been an emotional and hilarious scene! It’s a shame we won’t see it play out, but I’d bet we’ll probably see the Young Avengers appear at some point either way anyway. Avengers: Judgment Day OR Avengers: Secret Warsif not both.
