You think you know All I want for Christmas it is you even better than if it were your song? It’s possible.
Mariah Carey hunchback entertains TikTok
Whether you’ve begged your choirmaster to choose her for the end-of-year performance or you just can’t stand her, one thing’s for sure: every Christmas you hear her everywhere.
And for good reason: since the album’s release Happy Christmas in 1994, the most famous of Mariah Carey’s songs broke records. In 2020 she became most streamed song on Spotify in a single day with almost 17.2 million streams in 24 hours. The following year, in 2021, All I want for Christmas it is you has been heard more than 30 million times on streaming platforms.

So many interpretations that suggest Mariah Carey has played her countless times. Yet, the diva does not seem to rest on her successes. In a TikTok video shot in New York in November, we find out Mariah Carey (again) uses a teleprompter to sing her global hit…simple technical imperative, or desire of the singer? In this second case, we would like to reassure Mariah Carey and tell her that if she were seized by a small doubt about the text, the audience will be there to fill in the gaps, even without a teleprompter.
