A British pensioner and his partner died today in a horrific car crash which is being investigated by police in Thailand.
The Brit was driving a white Toyota Yaris with his younger male lover Tawid Kanadee (27) when the accident happened.
CCTV footage shows driver Mr. Kanadee slows down to turn right onto a side street before being rear-ended by a silver Honda CRV. The impact pushed her squarely into the path of an approaching black Isuzu bakkie.
The vehicle hit the Toyota and the British victim – who was hit the hardest in the front left passenger seat – had to be cut out of the wreck shortly after the impact around 16:30 local time.
He was pronounced dead at the scene in Sawang Wirawong district, northeastern Thailand.

Paramedics mr. Kanadee was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.
Rescue workers said the wreckage of the small car had to be cut open by rescue workers to reach the British victim.

Lt. Col. Ronnapong Chorsai of Sawang Wirawong Police Station said: “The investigating officer is gathering evidence to bring charges against the people involved who drove recklessly and caused the collisions and deaths.”
It came just a week after another accident in the same spot. One person was killed and another injured in a collision between a truck and a school bus.
Thailand has one of the worst road safety records in the world. Ministers have set a target to reduce the number of deaths from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 to 12 per 100,000 people by 2027.
A lack of traffic education in schools, cheap car loans, notoriously easy driving tests, police failure to obey traffic rules, widespread corruption and chronic underinvestment in infrastructure hamper these efforts.
