Fremantle appoints Ganesh Rajaram as CEO for Asia and Latin America

Rajaram has been appointed CEO of Fremantle Asia & Latin America from 1 January 2023, while Rahman has been promoted to EVP Sales to replace him.

The newly created position for Rajaram, who was previously General Manager/EVP Asia, sees him overseeing all aspects of manufacturing businesses in Asia and Latin America, with the CEOs of India, Indonesia and Mexico reporting directly to him. He remains based in Singapore and reports to Fremantle Group CEO Jennifer Mullin.

Rajaram joined Fremantle in 2005 and was successful in finding a new audience for it America’s Got Talent, American Idol and The X Factor Britain via national broadcasters such as Fox and Sony in the region. Ganesh also leads scripted show presentations, including sales American Gods to Youku in China and Beecham House to Netflix Netherlands.

Jens Richter, CEO, International, Fremantle said Rajaram’s “strategic vision, empathy and creativity will undoubtedly drive continued growth and prosperity” in Asia and Latin America. “We have worked together for many years and there is no one better suited to fill this important position to drive Fremantle’s ambitious growth plans in this space,” he added.

Rahman expands on her existing SVP role and replaces Rajaram in Asia. As such, she will drive Fremantle’s sales strategy in the region. She is based in Singapore and will report to Richter.

Since joining Fremantle in 2010, Rahman has completed several significant transactions, including a sale My Brilliant Friend: The Story of a New Name to iQIYI, Youku and Tencent Video in China – the first time a non-English language European drama has been sold to three platforms simultaneously.

“Haryaty’s unrivaled knowledge and relationships with broadcasters and producers across Asia have helped introduce the Fremantle name and our brilliant content to large audiences across the region,” said Richter.
