According to The New York Times, Heard’s lawyers have filed several lawsuits, alleging that the case took place in the wrong state. They also contested the judge’s decision to exclude some evidence, including records of therapists from the time they said had documented allegations of harassment.
Heard’s team sought to overturn the jury’s decision, either by denying Depp’s allegations or by ordering an entirely new trial.
“The Court improperly prevented jurors from hearing several separate cases in which Heard reported Depp’s harassment to a healthcare professional,” the lawyers wrote.
Recall that in early June, the jury unanimously found Amber Heard guilty in the case against Johnny Depp and ordered the actor to pay $ 15 million in damages.
