Netflix Wednesday star Jenna Ortega did not seek spiritual guidance from her predecessor and co-star Christina Ricci.
The actress revealed that she and Ricci, who portrayed Wednesday in 1991’s The Addams Family and her 1993’s Addams Family Values, made no mention of their characters’ bond while co-directing her new Netflix series.

“I think when [Риччи] None of us said “Wednesday” to each other while on set, Ortega told MTV News. “I don’t think you want to interfere with my performance and feel arrogant.”
Ortega was also a little embarrassed to bring the subject up: “I felt like I didn’t want to repeat what he did 30 years ago,” Jenna said. “For my own gain, but yes, I didn’t want to cheat on him and I didn’t want to be like him.”

Although the ’90s movies and TV series are based on the original Charles Addams cartoons, Ortega sees the similarities between the two end there: “Our show features superpowers, vagrants, and evil ghost pilgrims. These are two very different people, our Wednesday.”
Recall that the plot of the series tells about the daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams, who are students at Nevermore Academy. He will need to master psychic abilities to stop a local serial killer and uncover his family’s secret. The show premiered on Netflix on November 24.
